The atmosphere in Mirror’s Edge is really something else…
there’s an entire folder in the game called “LivingWorld”. It features a lot of the ambience. They nailed that folder name.

Strangely, it reminds me of a boat ride at EPCOT (Disney World, Orlando) called "Living with the Land" in which there is a specific part where it winds through a series of greenhouses that I always felt were perfect for a Mirror's Edge level. Well, honestly, that entire "Land Pavilion" and moreover the park overall have elements of that design aesthetic, with the whole "City of Tomorrow" theme that is EPCOT.
I'll be doing Anchor next, may even start recording footage this coming week as I wouldn't mind getting at least one up per month at least.

I had exactly same feeling. I didnt like the game at first but first time when there is night in downtown and I heard those few tones that reminded me feeling I liked during playing mirrors edge 1. for me view district is even better

I never finished ME Catalyst. These ambient videos put me in the mood to go back and give it another chance.
I love the game but missions are boring. I know exactly when I started to like the game because it reminded me some feeling from ME1 its like in comments above. when there was night for the first time in downtime and that night feeling of the city was great and then I hear these tones at 10:00 that was what kept me playing. and it was worth it now I like it more than mirrors edge 1. I just love run around city. collect stuff. finding some place and think if I can get there(bags are nice part when I have to think how to get there). I found out I also like to find places from these videos. it gives me some goal and then I feel good when I find it :D I would suggest just go as fast as you can through first missions until there is night in the downtown and then just try to enjoy it. for me there was even better part of the city later in the game. view distrcit. that part with soundtrack playing before game is finished is so great. I feel there like in heaven. I dont know why there are different songs when you finish the game and you are just running around the city. finished game 3 times now. did all collectables all achievements everything :)
Such an underrated gem... I will never understand why EA (fuck them) never took the time to update the game for newer consoles and add Ray tracing on PC. It would have been the perfect showcase for the technology.
Still, it's a fantastic game with a very special atmosphere. Been playing the game since release and I'm not tired of it.

Mirrors edge catalyst may not be perfect but its atmosphere is top notch
this game was and still is so beautiful. the only game that came close when this released in my opinion was crysis 3. this game was different though because it wasnt a shooter. the atmosphere was totally new in a way that i can only describe as free. solar fields did some of the best sound design i have ever heard with this game as well.
Absolutely love that you are still working with MEC. Can you try to add sounds from the game as well? I mean ambience sounds of the city, cars, people talking to each 9ther and especially these announcer sounds like "There is a new pick up available". I think it would fit in your mixes.
