sorry I am so awkward, I'm not used to talking in front of a camera in such a serious way but I'll get better at it :))

I just wanted to say 1) I just (very very last minute) submitted my application and portfolio for VCU and I'm not confident but I'm at least hopeful, so I've been watching a couple of your videos and they've been very helpful and enjoyable! 2) I literally just finished reading Homegoing for my AP Lit class and it was probably one of my favorite books (as someone who hates reading) so seeing your project for that was so cool!
Your portfolio was so versatile and creative, I can see why they accepted you. My strong suit really only lies on portraits of people, so I feel like my portfolio was deadass just portraits of pretty but depressed women + a single still life because it was recommended + video edits? I've made? Anyway,

Hey Liana, I just wanted to say thank you for the video, I’m thinking of transferring over to the VCU arts program next fall, and I had a question pertaining to the photos of the portfolio. I heard that a good documented photo show’s professionalism. I only have an iPhone for a camera. So what are some tips on taking a good photo?
Hi, sorry to see this just now! Depending on what phone you have it probably has really high quality. If you have a friend that has a nicer camera on there phone, ask! Or see if your local library has cameras out to rent. Set up to take your photos in a blank space, generally a huge piece of white paper and taping it to the wall and to the surface area is good! Have overcast lighting and make sure that you have light sources from multiple angles on your pieces. I hope this helps, don't be afraid to reach out on my art insta, @artlaplazul !

it’s rolling like you said so you can turn it in anytime, but i’m pretty sure the guarantee to hear back by april 1 deadline is jan 15 so trying to get it in by jan is ideal! i heard back a month later exactly

I applied to Vcu arts fashion design. Do you know if it is true that I can send pictures of myself wearing clothes (not designs that I made) on my portfolio? I went to open house but still want to make sure.
