I mean I don't know what your definition of 'woke' is but you can't put your values away like clothes. They are intrinsic to your being. If a comedy scene presents someone getting rap-d as a funny scene (an actual thing I saw in a south film, don't ask), it's not like you can compartmentalize your values and force yourself to laugh. If something doesn't make you laugh and instead makes you uncomfortable, that's that. I used to laugh at bullying happening when in school, and now that I've grown up, I don't find it funny.

The movie is extremely funny, the jokes land, the dialogues and acting are on point except for Nora(you already knew) and Prateek Gandhi and Divyendu are on fireee. Less adult joke, it takes you back to 2000-10 era , in this time when you need a break, you can watch this movie without any guilt and you'll come back feeling better

This review depicts it as an insensitive cringe comedy filled with WhatsApp jokes, yet it's refreshing and certainly joins the ranks of comic capers like "Chup Chup Ke," "Andaz Apna Apna," and similar titles. The theater erupted in laughter. I laughed throughout, as did my friends. It's one of those movies you can relax and watch with friends and family (although boomers may not find it very funny, like the reviewer who missed the point). The reviewer seems only interested in seeking pain and reality, which this film doesn't offer. Instead, it provides an opportunity to escape from reality and loosen up a bit. P.S. - Should reviews be biased by your personality, or should they help the paying audience decide whether a general section of the population will have a good time? This reviewer's style is the former, while I believe it should be the latter. FC needs better reviewers. Sigh
I consider myself to be woke, and I did not find this movie to be offensive in any way shape or form. On the contrary, it made me discover laughter after such a long time. I haven’t laughed so hard throughout any movie in the recent past. Plus, this movie comes with hidden Bollywood movie references, different comedy styles and not just body horror humour. Go watch the movie. You are gonna have a time of your life.

While i agree that some parts of the movie were going for low hanging fruits, there were some genuinely funny moments in the movie that made me chuckle. See this isn't a great movie but it's a goofy attempt to make the audience laugh which it does in parts. Humor afterall is subjective, but not everything needs to be examined with an intellectual lens. Sometimes, being silly or goofy because you like having fun is ok. We at least are getting a comedy that's not horror comedy or a rom com in hindi after ages and that in itself is a great attempt. Let's critique but in a constructive manner and not project our judgements and expect we during to be thought provoking. P.S i saw some comment equate this to the likes of masti and related movies when they haven't even seen it. I can assure them this isn't a sex comedy neither does it venture anywhere close to the abyss those movies reached. This is a fun and casual watch meant to be taken lightly.
I will probably never watch this film but Prathyush you are bang-on with the regressive view of the films. How is it different from 90s movies and those vile sex comedy movies like Masti, grand masti etc - there is a reason we have "woken" up. Bullying is not okay, making fun of accents, religions, sexual orientation is not okay. And you speak well (profoundly)

The trailer kinda let u guess the type of movie to expect. You expect absurdity and not a film with deep emotions and relationships. Thank you for this. Levelheaded, non-hype reviews are so hard to come by, especially for Indian films. Comedy at the expense of someone who is discriminated is not comedy, it's bullying. I can't bring myself to laugh whenever the punchline is "haha minorities am i right?!?!". Having said that, I am glad that there are positive aspects to the film as well as you point out.
