Replace the drawstring with some blue 10mm rope. Then use a Chinese finger trap on the cable end and tie the 10mm on. It doesn't hurt to lube the cable if it's a long run as well.
Just for the kids out there. The two 5.pole breakers are in parallel not series. I hope they are linked so as a fault trips both or that could have big consequences. I'm sure it could have been mechanically linked with a channel over the two arms. But as it's a custom made unit I'm sure it's all been properly designed.
I was looking for you comment mate! Yes, they are in parallel not in series. and yes, your solution about having them linked with a channel I guess is the best solution!
I was on a job a few years back where the groundworkers installed ducting a metre deep but a bit like yours did it completely wrong. They ran a duct around the site but only put one tube to the access point and taped it to the underground pipe with tape. It took us ages to fish out the rope they installed but it was made more difficult by the two feet of water in the duct due to them using field drain pipe instead of actual ducting plus the taped joints.
Good video to watch Nicholas. Personally, I would have pulled a blue poly rope through with the cable (8'10") for possible future needs, such as Cat 6. When you used the step/ cone cutter on the alloy (9'50"), I would have sprayed the bare alloy with black paint to protect it, and (12'40") it is good to get a preview of the new Knipex electricians light duty, rubberised hammer. .. 😂😂 A nice looking install at the end of the day though, good one.
Make sure to power the Easee units and get the firmware updated first. I spent a long time thinking my Easee was screwed because the Megger EV tester kept on producing PE Errors and wouldn't test. After the Firmware update and reboot it was perfect.

@@Rich-Eclipse I questioned it the first time I did these too as the whole idea of easse is that it’s easy lol 😂 Still a great charger to use and set up though
As per regs, in fault conditions the PE should be disconnected with EV as they are automatically controlled MCB they will operate when the O-pen unit sees a fault,
What I don’t get is we all installing the odd charger at work but juts look how many cars are in that car park......this is so stupid it can’t be the future
There is government grants for them so company's can right them off on tax etc there is more incentives to a company they might have only 2 electric cars in the company 😂😂

Agreed, blue polypropylene rope, cheap and strong.
When Nick said drawstring, a multi-threaded rope was exactly what I was expecting.
I just use a ferret
You,ve got one of those screwdriver shaped hammers , as well 😅
Thanks so much for all your help on this job, enjoy my time working with you and can see a bright future ahead for us both ! 🎉

And today Nick learned that, when following ground workers on to site, you ALWAYS leave time for fixing their work for them.
Or for going to supervise them

Here's me thinking DeWalt would be right up your street with it being the batman logo colours 🦇
Because they laid it on a friday afternoon and thought bllcks to cutting the duct at every pit! Screw the sparks as always!!
12:50 weird looking hammer 😂 Proper tidy looking job, though!! Good luck on a Doncaster Cables tour 🤞
Everything is a hammer to an electrician :)
My god Nick is now mining for flex conduit now!
😂😂
Nice work chaps, love a good commercial job.
I can confirm leaving your van open in and around Doncaster is a terrible idea 😂😂 especially with the Milwaukee kit
As I recognise the unitas wholesale building near lakeside I can confirm bad idea
Brilliant video ❤..good to have a change 👍
You should create a line of Telly-Tubby dolls as the Bundy Groupies.
The van you head is called the "BapVan" I used to work for a company on that estate that ironically do ev chargers

Had the same issue before mate too so it’s the first thing we did when setting up
Thought the estate looked familiar but the batman Sandwich van was the last clue in the jigsaw puzzle
Well took me to watch until the very end for you to say about a visit to Doncaster cables for me to find out you are defo not in Bristol! 😂😂😂
Another cracking video Nick keep them coming! 👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥
Must be Bristol if you got the bap mobile flying around!! 😂😂
We have bap van in Donny aswell
Nice video - enjoyed 100%, thanks Nick. Loving the AI comments about 'camaradarie' and 'wealth of wisdom' - totally right of course...
How did you end up working in Doncaster? My home turf. The bap van actually calls at our depot!

Are all those chargers going to be on a radial or a ring circuit, with all the potential current draw?
Should never trust that pull cord (it snaps(a lot!)). Always replace with bt cord mate.
using a cable sock would make the job easier just a thought pulling the cable through the ducting.
All sites ruin the ducts without fail there will always been 1 collapsed or filled with mud 😢
You sure about that current rating chaps 122amps? What temperature are you running it at and what rating factors applied?
I make it 75 and absolute max of 94
What is it with trades not thinking about what others have to do afterwards ?
That's only tiny tiny breaker. Come back when you can climb inside one.
Always Great Work 🧐🙂🇮🇪☘️
Which Easee chargers are they? Sure the Easee one has PEN fault protection built in?
They are the 10223 so don’t have PME protection unfortunately
The ease one however does but not great for commercial use

Ye they are spot on to be honest,
by opening those mounting holes on the pillar, he just voided the warranty on it...
nice big dark oriffice nick!
Almost missed the cameos from Margot Robbie and Megan Fox!
Maybe don't put the bollard on the lid tho??
At 16:19, what's the matter with the apparently switched PE? Why is that even legal to do?
As per regs, in fault conditions the PE should be disconnected with EV as they are automatically controlled MCB they will operate when the O-pen unit sees a fault,
Surely it still needs a ref for zero volts to see a pen fault how does it get that?@@brightsparkmid
Presuming it sees it with a rise in touch voltage over 70volts
Looks like you're enjoying doing something different.
you've corrupted me, as soon as you dark orrifice, I immediately jumped to thinking Adam's mum

Eventually they’ll just charge a premium to be able to charge when the grid is “maxed out”. Ya can’t afford to charge?? Hmmm…sorrrrry
They said the same when gas lighting started rolling out. And then electric lighting. Not every car will need to be charged every day at every stop..
lol!!
Why not specify a charge point that has the built in fault protection?
Does anyone else get annoyed when they are called chargers!?

Hope your up to date with you vaccines using dewalt stuff
