There is so many different needs for different needs. There is no way to make one vise that could fill needs of the machinist to blacksmith. I just designeg this to improve regular bench vise on the home workshop. It can be used when you want to clamp something without leaving marks to it, or with higher force when it doesn't matter if workpiece gets scratched or not. It allows to change different "tooling' for to make bends, clamp round / square tubings, ring rollers.. etc. To allow easier / faster upgrade & different uses. It would have made video too long to show all possibilities. That's why part 2 comes later, of course some possibilities are the ones that needs to be imagined by the viewer itself. I have seen so many "ultimate" welding tables & workbenches.. none of them have been suitable to my needs. So, i think there's no way to make anykind of "ultimate" anything that would be perfect for every user.

I allready made a longer handle. I had no suitable axle when i made the original one. You can see it here: www.homemadetools.net/forum/new-kind-metal-vise-76191#post145904
Great tool to make angles 👍 Extend pipe for handle, so you dont have to force it 😉 great job 💪

I have been planning telescopic handle.. also i will make a set of tooling for this. Ring roller, pipe bender.. etc Stay tuned buddy. Btw. Jos postaat videoistasi linkin sinne makers of youtube ryhmään, niin voin jakaa ne sinne diy & grafts ryhmälle. Suoraan linkin laitto ei multa jostain syystä onnistu? Jakaminen kyllä.
Another brilliant piece of Engineering Tuomas, and some fancy video work. Two for the price of one :)

Thanks Peter. I wanted to try something different with the editing, instead of speeding up i choosed to show two steps at the same time. I am very happy if it worked. ☺️
Not a bad video. I guess it could be made to accommodate longer items by extending the bars dimensions. Well done goes to show how simple it is to make some great tooling perfect for the use they are needed for

Yes. It could be made longer. I made it to size that i tought suitable for my use.
Mate, you are the metal guru! 👍🏽 Bloody brilliant, and to think, it's not yet finished... 👌🏽

Thanks Bill. Yes, i am making a set of toolings to it. Ring roller, pipe bender etc. And of course, i mount hydraulic jack to it too. So, stay tuned buddy! 👍
All your works are brilliant. Your stick welding is awesome please mention what is the Electrode you are using and at what current setting?

Mostly 2.5mm Heavily Coated flux Electrodes: Esab ok 73.15 ( E 8018-G ) with 90 A. Regular coated 2.5mm rods with 75 A ( uphill ), 3.25mm ( for bigger weids ) with 104 A
These picture in picture views are awesome. Best of all is the timing, so they're not a distraction. Also, could you talk about your drill press attachment? Did you also make it? Best regards.

Thank you very much. I am happy that you liked my experiment with video editing. Drill is Bosch pbd 40. Clamp comes with the drill. I use regular inwin 4" vise with it.
This is what i would love to hear also. He's a fucking genius

When i get the idea, i make simple drawing to remind me that i got the idea in firstplace. Like this: instagram.com/p/B4XyuU1AUQQ/?igshid=17b0jp4y5pnfb Maybe its my Asberger, but otherwise i plan things in my head. Mostly i think the ways " how to make this with my tools" then i adjust the original idea if i don't find acceptable solutions...
Brilliant! You should copyright your designs and earn money from manufacturing that copies it. Thank you for sharing your brain with us.

Thanks buddy. Great to see you again. ☺️ Earning money would be nice.. but giving something for free is sometimes nicer. If i can help someone, thats enough for me.
I would like you to show us how you make a forest rake. Like President Trump talked about...
5 лет назад
Actually Trump was right. We do forest raking for energy wood. wattsupwiththat.com/2018/12/12/trump-was-right-about-raking-finnish-forests/ I have done it too.
@ That is NOT how "raking" is described in the US. What that article is covering is "Clearing and Grubbing." I've run the EHS on sites with MILLIONS of dollars worth of it! Raking ony gets light debris. Your definitions may be different of course. And if course, you only do it after logging. Trump was referring to Californian forests that had not been cut. AND that forest is typically evolved to require fires to stay healthy.
5 лет назад
@@mike29412 Yep. That was a bad description, that wasn't Finnish site. I think that Trump made a mistake with translation. In Finnish language words have several meanings. Like " Kuusi " means, number six, spruce, your moon.. If you say here " six pieces " it also means, your moon is on fire, your spruce returns, your moon returns, your spruce is on fire... Its easy to make a mistake with Finnish translation. ☺️ Also, its easy to make a mistake when i try to explain something in English. Also raking has several meanings. Here we treat forests so that we cut part of the small trees time after time, that gives more room for the bigger trees to grow straight. We also collect tree stumps and branches to energy wood. There's bigger distance between trees, but enough to avoid erosion. That kind of forest doesn't burn so easily.
DUDE ... Those 'pic within a pic' shots became very annoying, very fast! So much so that I had to stop watching the video after a couple minutes. Maybe you should NOT DO that in your future videos. ( just saying... )

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to try would it work better than speeding up the video.
HEY, I didn't mean to sound so harsh and callus (SORRY about that!) I really was interested in the content you were offering in the video, BUT that little pic was just a bit to invasive and distracting. (For my taste anyway) However... The topic was a good one and the information was coming across fairly well. Good luck with your future videos and projects!!!

Thank you. It will be continued soon. 🤗
Super lavoro
Excellente job thanks for scharing my freind
Thank you, for watching and a very nice comment!
Excellent, multi-purpose tool. For an old guy like me, I could use a longer handle.
Yes. Luckily its easy to change. To be honest, i didn't have longer axle that moment. Most likely i will change it later.
Your works are so satisfying bro.
Thanks buddy!
Really brilliant idea!
Thank you. I am happy that you liked!
Great design, well done.
Another good project, very well done, you're a maestro (but a longer handle would be handy)
Thank you. I allready made a new one. I just didn't have long enough axle that time. www.homemadetools.net/forum/new-kind-metal-vise-76191#post145904

I'm always sooo affraid to look at the weld light, but I dont think it harms eyes when viewed through the camera but I still look away lol
Yep, i close my eys sometimes too. Its a reflex, i think.
Its the uv radiation that harms, so its safe to watch it when its filtered trough screen.
@ Good to know :) great video btw usually peoples music is too loud an annoying, glad yours was not.
@@criticitizen8749 Sometimes i had too.. but i have decided to give more attention to editing. I try to keep it that way.

ok 73.15

Que show parabéns.
Thanks Patrick! Nice to see that you are still here. :)

Thanks mate!
do you sell these or just made it for your work ? if so how much would in be ?
This was a first prototype. I have been slowly making new version. Video comes with plans during summer. And, no. I don't make things for sale atm.
hehe! That's just great! :D

No atm. But, i will make an instructable when i have finished adds / tooling for it. That includes plans too.
