Why can't games be like ASTD, is it that hard to make a game without stat or trait rerolls

It’s genuinely so annoying all these tower defense games are blatantly just trying to copy anime adventures shamelessly. AWTD, Crossover Tower Defense, and imo Multiverse tower defense are really the only unique tower defense games that deserve attention.
