Matthias and Rudolph both played the intro, in two different positions, and made it work!
Don Matejek Kind of like Izzy and Slash. Izzy would play the riff on the lower strings and slash would play the same riff on the higher strings
Neil Gerado in Pat Benatar does the same, often playing the song in different ways and places. It's probably the sign of a good guitar player. Like other people here have mentioned Scorpions do the same thing.
Robert Thomson I actually think they switch chords around to prevent from getting bored from playing the exact same thing over and over.
Great Lesson Mike! I think that it should be pronounced Yaabs, not Jabs. Being of German heritage W sounds like V. V sound like F, J sounds like Y etc. So yeah Mathias (no h sound in consonant combinations in German) you got that right. Jah = Yah (yes in English).
Johann (as in Bach, Strauss etc. ) sounds Yohan. Just a thing. Be cool.

Yeah, what's up with the bad buzz?? My guitars do it to. My fret hand stops the hum but with the pick hand, you can hear it.
