  • @elbowsout6301
    @elbowsout6301 3 года назад +35

    I struggle to think of who this is for. If you have the money for this then you have enough to get a Direct Drive wheel which is better in every way. When Logitech brought out the G923 people felt it was too similar to the G920, this T-GT 2 is so similar to the T-GT it's disappointing. They should have included the T-LCM's at the very least. I have to disagree that including them would kill the T-LCM sales as there are a lot of people that buy T-LCM's for other wheels. I had a T-GT for 2 years and only just sold it a couple of months ago when I move to a Simagic M10. I really enjoyed my T-GT while I had it but with DD wheels coming down in price why would anyone buy this?

    • @user-hx3vp2vp7v

      Most of the people on PS4/PS5 play GT sport. ACC has better physics/ffb but playerbase is almost non existant on console. In GT sport TG-T is better than CSL elite because of its feautures that wheel support, you can feel everything much more than fanatec wheel. For every other game Fanatec is better.

      As someone eagerly awaiting his back ordered t-gt II to arrive I'll gladly explain who this is for. People exactly like me.
      A) I don't have the space for a normal rig. I have a foldable rig. And a dd is likely going to be too much for it to handle. In fact the tgt might even be pushing it a hair.
      B) csl dd hasn't arrived that's compatible with the playstation 5.
      But wait, there's adapters for that.
      C) csl may be cheap, but add up the boost kit, plus wheel and pedals and even I you go cheapest available your at the same price point as the TGT II. A decent wheel jumps from 200 for "budget" wheels like the mclaren gt3 which is a formula style wheel or the wrc rally wheel up to 350 for a decent wheel. You want to take the step up on pedals it jumps from 100 to 250.
      I'm not looking to by entry level fanatec, I'm looking at top of the line thrustmaster.
      I think the thing that makes the most sense is this (from a reasonable point of view, not these people that decide to go whole hog and drop 3k+ on their rig from the get go):
      When you start sim racing, you choose an eco system. You begin with what's in your budget. My case it was the t150. Next step is upgrading until I'm at the top of the line with thrustmaster. Then when I have the time, money and space, I'll upgrade my actual rig, buy a gaming computer, upgrade video set up and the cherry on top will be the full suite of fanatec, and other high end bits and bobbles. (I really like the heusinkveld pedal sets). The big thing to remember is that everyone has a reason they buy what they buy. I'm sure there are plenty of other circumstances that make sense for purchasing this wheel instead.
      I will agree that they should have included the T-LCMs. But even then, just buy servo base+wheel, then buy the LCMs separately.
      I'll also counter my argument and bolster yours by agreeing that yes, thrustmaster should absolutely have done more to upgrade from one to the other. Maybe not necessarily Direct drive which has been hinted at for literal years on the message boards,but they certainly could have done more. However, I have a sneeking suspicion that once it's paired to GT7, it's gonna separate itself from the original TGT

    Software drivers for future versions of Windows are as important as the reliability and longevity of the hardware. My Logitech racing wheel was used very little and is currently in the storage room, because the company stopped updating their drivers and currently don't support either Windows 10 or 11. It's a USB device, the drivers should never have become obsolete and/or Logitech should never allow their products to become useless due to lack of updated software drivers.

    I look at it from the position I’m in, I already have the first tgt…. So there isn’t enough perks or changes to the II for me to even entertain the idea of spending $$$ for the second. It’s great that they did upgrade some aspects but not dropping another $500-600 usd just for the base.
    I’ve always been thrustmaster but I’m eyeballing the new fanatec DD same price bundled as the tgt ii bundle and it’s a dd with pedals that are on a completely different quality and feel level than the standard t3pa pedals.

    • @YG-iy2gc
      @YG-iy2gc 2 года назад

      the clutch does not start to turn on with the pedal pressed out as much as possible, first find the pedal position when the car starts to move, remember this and try to keep the clutch pedal closer to this position during the start. Keep the accelerator at about 80%. When the lights go out, it will be enough to slightly release the clutch and add the accelerator...
      Good luck.

    @viperconcept I got mine on today, and after plugging all the cable then connecting to PS4 is not even being detected. The steering wheel is completely dead. To be honest I do not know what to think, and I would say there is nothing wrong in how I plugged all the required harnesses. In addition I had my TH8A shifter with USB interface, and before deciding to buy the steering wheel I got in touch with TM support to confirm it was supported: I noticed that a different connector for the shifter is present on the steering wheel base, which is leading me to think I will not be able to re-use it, is this correct?

    • @viperconcept
      @viperconcept  3 года назад +1

      The TH8A works also with the T-GTII on PS4, as you saw in my video on GT Sport.
      About the "shifter" hole in the steering base, I haven't plugged anything on it. I simply connect the TH8A via USB directly to the PS4.
      Try to plug and test your steering wheel on pc. If it's still dead, then you have a defective one and you can change it with a new one for free.

    the wheel itself is so ugly and cheap looking. i personally think the logitech wheels nailed it, they are great, they could be better if they were a little bigger and the buttons etc looked a little less gamey. but overall pretty good. can only be beaten by a buttonless real steering wheel. but then you have no buttons.

      wtf are you talking about, you shod not give a fuck about the quality, dont think that a wheelbase that cost 500€ is the same as a wheel that cost 200.

When it comes to quality or ffb etc I concede that this thrustmaster wheel beats a Logitech wheel by a massive, massive margin. I was just saying you would expect a wheel that is that much better to not look like a cheap toy.
