I wasn’t a fan of the Millie sculpt at the beginning but has grown to enjoy it during the last two years. Thank you for this great video! I think people often overlooked how good the dream house adventure/ it takes two/ touch of magic Netflix series is because of its change in animation style, honestly, it’s a pretty good show with lots of fun plots; dare I say, even better written than some of the older movies. Ken was super cute and shy in the show and his relationship with Barbie is adorable.

2014 Barbie was still almost entirely shaped by the GG sculpt as seen on the Barbie Style Instagram. Millie only arrived around November or December and was more for the Spring 2015 lineup, so I don’t really associate her with 2014. I love this era of Barbie because it was still so pink, feminine, dreamhouse coded and had some leftover charme from 2000s Barbie that we then completely lost around 2015/2016. Also I personally love the Mermaid Lumina doll because I find her flowy iridescent organza fin, rhinestone on the tail and overall glossy high quality facepaint beauiful. Fairytopia & Mermaidia dolls in the 2000’s were also haunted by painted on tops & often times even no shoes.

My jaw dropped that Anything is Possible is 10 now. I love both the new dolls & the earlier 2010's/2000's dolls, but I think the older ones will always hold a special spot to me since that's what I grew up with when I was a child. Also, my favorite doll I saw in the video was the 2011 Glam one with the pink poodle since she was one of my favorite dolls I had as a kid! She owned her own pet salon haha. I really love seeing new Barbie eras, it makes me so happy to see Barbie thriving & changing over the years! 💖

I get it Barbie is just a doll and it should not be that deep HOWEVER with that being said representation matters because media influences us either way so if diversity is not represented then it's not normalized that's why it's important for Barbie to evolve and I get the Barbie unapologetic magazine campaign but for me I a very grey area, the time Magazine about her new body with the title " Can't we stop talking about my body" is for me more speaking. As a chubby brown eyed brown haired kid I never felt represented and looking back now it's because of everything the miss world, Victoria secret and eventho I don't want to admit it Barbie also, I love Barbie and she is the Best Fashion doll HOWEVER you can love and critique at the same time if you want the product to evolve. I love the glamor and miss the ultra glamor of the early 2010's Barbies but at the end of the day I rather have diversity then Glamour if this is going to perhaps make the world a better and more accepting place ❤

The secret door mermaid doll were actually super cute, and so is the side characters of pearl princess, it’s not interesting but definitely not as offensive as the main doll 😂

Thank you for the video and the review of 2014 Barbies !!! 10 years later, there is such transformations again !!! Odile face mold as a regular face mold ? Why not, but I prefer them to stay reserved for signature dolls, or special dolls. Quality above quantity !! 😅

so in style ending was sooo sad :( such an iconic line
i love diversity. as someone who used to not usually see myself and my friends represented by barbie i really appreciate it however the drop in quality (in their fashion and articulation) is such a shame wahh diversity shouldn't come at the cost of quality 😞
odile is cute and im glad shes going to be widely available in playline (i still havent found her where im from 😓) i hope they dont overuse her tho because face fatigue is real (ie millie)

listen, i know most of Barbie collectors hate the changes that Mattel made in 2014, but for me? i LOVED it!!! here's some point:
    - more diversity, yes diversity is the best thing about Barbie. back in the old Fashionistas day, you get the same 6 Barbie every wave and personally, i don't like have the same dolls again and again. the changes from Names to Numbers are some of the best decisions Mattel made. it actually gave us the freedom to gave our dolls names and i loved naming my dolls! also the different face, hair style/colors, different body, those are life changing for me. i really don't like the vintage bodies and rubber legs. they have those yellowing problems and also molds, problems that you don't find in plastic bodies. yes, they took the articulations, but i don't mind.
    - Ken's hair. well... his hair was plastic on the old days, only in 2000s Mattel started to gave Ken rooted hair before changing back to plastic. personally, i prefer plastic hair, because there's just so much you can style with rooted hair, not to mention how much product Mattel used, it's basically stuck like a plastic at that point. with plastic hair, they have so many options now for Ken hair styles and they're amazing!.
    - most important, identification aspects. i might be wrong but ithink around this time they started to introduced the silver stamp on the body, right? those stamp are live changing because i am a freak when it comes to identifying my dolls, i would go to thrift store with my phone ready to identify every dolls i found there. with older dolls, they don't have that. sometimes trying to identify those dolls are driving me crazy, like i have 8 dolls with 1998 head stamp that for the love of God, i couldn't identify. and i know every Millie looks the same but since they have the silver stamp, they're easier to identify.
i know it looks like i'm ranting but i just love sharing my perspective as a Barbie collector who prefers modern Barbie than the old ones. so yeah, sorry for the long comments and thank you for the amazing videos.❤

2014 is the year when the quality of Barbie started to decline… ESPECIALLY the holiday Barbie’s!
I hate “diversity” meaning the weird random body shapes, heights, flat feet, shorter thinner hair molded on clothes…. These things don’t necessarily scream “BARBIE” to me.
I want my Barbie’s SNATCHED, BLONDE and PINK

While I see you're criticism I don't think diversity means a decline in quality. It's just that the quality declined around the same time they introduced more diversity. Diverse bodies can be just as fashionable as snatched blonde dolls and the new monster high dolls prove that.
