- Опубликовано: 20 сен 2024
- Mr. Beat and Matt Baker from @UsefulCharts came up with 10 open-ended questions for each other and didn't tell each other what the questions were ahead of time. This was the conversation that resulted.
They will also take your questions if time allows. Cool beans?

This may seem silly, but I think it's great that seemingly regular people who happen to be well versed in a certain area of expertise are able to make a small business out of the RUclips platform. Mr. Beat videos drive my wonderful wife crazy, but I've thoroughly enjoyed recapturing my love of history the past 2.5 years. The livestreams are fun. Congrats on the success.
Thanks so much for your support, Michael. I'm a bit weirder than "regular" though. :)
Tell your wife I’m sorry and I can relate. 😅
@Shannon Beat Haha, history ain't her thing. Good for both of you on the success of the channel[s]. I have teacher friends who are highly educated yet overworked, sometimes targeted for teaching the truth, and shamefully underpaid. I feel for them. It's nice to see people (who happen to be about my age) have an avenue to teach what they love and support a family. Which is why I'm happy to support where I can.
As a former student of yours, thank you for being awesome. It’s great to still learn from you.
Well holy dang. Thank you! Now I'm trying to figure out who this is...
@@iammrbeat I doubt you would remember, back in around 2012 you were one of my favorite teachers from Aubry Bend. I’m 22 now working on my engineering degree. Time flies! So glad you’ve come so far!
1:08:36 "If you take away the distractions, maybe you would see revolution." Mr. Beat is getting real.
:) Just calling it as I see it.
My two favorite RUclips channels yay!!
Woah! Thanks for the kind words!
Mr. Beat, UsefulCharts, and Ready to Harvest all knowing each other is my multiverse of madness

Religions always have fascinated me. I was raised Catholic. However, as a child, my primary relationship with my faith was going to weekly CCD classes and Mass a few times a year. I don't remember really having a fear or God or trauma around my religion. Having experiences with non-Mainstream Protestantism as a teenager kind of made me double down on my own faith. We currently live in a Catholic/Evangelical Protestantism/Muslim area and I feel like my child's experiences are richer than mine because the area has become more diverse. I also have always had a mild interest in Judaism, particularly how it influenced Christianity. Useful Charts Christian Religions videos have been particularly enlightening for me.
Wow this is pure gold, as a progressive myself I think it’s very fair to say we often don’t communicate things correctly.
On the topic of safety for women, I have kinda experienced both worlds due to transness and it was a complete shock to me when every time I dressed up more feminine somebody harassed me in one way or another, you can take some privileges for granted until they’re gone. Big respect to every person AFAB or feminine aligned, it’s definitely not easy
I loved this one, have you considered interviewing Andrew from Religion for Breakfast? I feel like his perspective would be quite unique and you two would gibe well.
Absolutely. His channel is wonderful.
The elder hipsters join forces.
lol we do have similar glasses
I hope the "movement" you referred to is rank choice voting. I learned about it from your channel, and it gave me hope 😊
;)
Great livestream, Mr. Beat! I really like your 10 questions livestreams.
Thanks buddy
@@iammrbeat No problem!
Mr. Beat, can you please make these following videos:
- Malaysia and Indonesia Compared
- Kenya and Tanzania Compared
- Madrid and Barcelona Compared
- Rome and Milan Compared
- Chile and Argentina Compared
- Cape Town and Johannesburg Compared
- Abu Dhabi and Dubai Compared

Great suggestions. Thank you for the list!
@@iammrbeat Singapore and hong kong too both are city state it would be interesting
Consider Philadelphia vs Western New Jersey 😂
@@iammrbeat What about Philippines and Cuba?
@@iammrbeat Very late to this game but: Faroe Islands vs Åland Islands. I think that is the last you need to have all Nordics covered.
15:07 The Zoom session just with Matts could be called "The Mattrix".
We had the Funk & Wagnall Encyclopedias when I was growing up. Spent a lot of time sick as a child so read through them a lot!
Those were great, too!
Glad you hear you support Andrew Yang. Yang Gang!
I bought the world history book a few months back. Looking forward to sharing these charts with my sons when they get old enough.
Still have most of the video to go but I love the energy of you two, first time seeing you Mr Beat but I’ll check out your channel, thanks for posting this
Thanks for watching!
Dude, amazing point on reformers needing to use freedom as their reasoning. Very well said, and I think many would agree with you
Cousins!
nothing is more relaxing than the voice of matt baker
I'm his wife and I agree. He's a very gentle, kind, thoughtful person.
I definitely watch useful charts at night when I'm trying to go to sleep

I have seen your video about Eisenhower and at the end of the video you asked us viewers which next president you should make a video about. I suggest John Quincy Adams. If you are going to choose him, can you use the music from "The John Quincy Adams song" in your video, just like you did with "The Dwight Eisenhower song" in your last president video. That song has such a nice beat.
Great suggestion. However, right now I'm already in the process of making one about Jackson!

Thank you for your reply! Andrew Jackson sounds interesting and the song about him is also one of my favorite president songs.

Totally agree with Useful Chart's Top 3.
1:26:18 As someone who lives in Eastern Washington and has lived in North Dakota, I appreciate Eastern Wa just being acknowledged, and North Dakota isn't similar to South Dakota, because everything cool thing in North Dakota is actually in South Dakota. Except for Salem Sue
lol now don't downplay Theodore Roosevelt National Park. That place is awesome.
This was an outstanding introspective watch. @Useful Charts the one thing I might say is the reaction to Palestine is IMO often so strong (and even antisemitic) because of how little it is talked about, not the opposite. Very few mainstream media outlets care about Palestine, virtually no major leaders in the west do. Discussion in America about the Palestinian struggle is often met with a blanket “you’re antisemitic” response, a la the ADL.
I also tend to take notes at various random places in notebooks. I've started at least putting the date when I do that so I can identify it later.
Hi mr beat can you make a video about Singapore vs hong kong 😁 both are city state function like country is will unique compare to other country's comparison
Useful charts is one of my favorite channels. With out going on and on about why. Let me just say I definitely seem to learn better visually. And useful charts is incredibly useful to me in that way. Thank you.
What a great conversation from 2 great guys and channels!
Great job mr breat, and chart man
Hey Mr. Beat, if we were in a matriarchy (icle?) society... would it be called Herstory instead of history? Its in our language.....
😆
Respectfully no. The word history is from Greek and is not meant to be gendered in our sense at all.
1:09:30 or close to it: the traditionalists weren't able to seize "woke" as an insult until after the reformers had already started fighting about it. I'm still not sure I understand what "woke" really means, or maybe I should say meant at this point. The first time I ever heard it used was on a British panel show, by a white comedian, and there was a black comedian on the panel who told her she wasn't allowed to use that word. So I immediately concluded "oh, okay, that's one of those parts of Black culture we white people are supposed to stay out of" and left it at that. You say communication is the biggest thing the reformers have messed up, but I think the poor communication is a function of lack of unity. There are too many other reformers I can't unify with because they want things I don't want, and they're not unifying with each other, either. The establishment has the monopoly on power and communication they do because they stand together against us, while we fight with each other more than we fight against them. I'd say the first thing we need on the reformer side is a cause that's benign to all of us (and also more specific than "freedom") that we can all rally behind. Most of the things we're passionate about, whether it's change to the electoral college, ending corporate welfare, universal healthcare, universal basic income, and so forth are not only opposed by all the traditionalists but some of us as well. So it needs to be something that none of us oppose, and realistically something the traditionalists don't oppose and don't see as a threat. Once we have that, we unite, and once we unite, we get some good communication going. Once we're together in position to change something, we'll finally all understand what "woke" means.
Y'all really called Gabriel Iglesias Enrique Iglesias.
Yay that was a major oof
Hello mr beat it's me Skandha PS who subscribe your channel. What inspired you to make this channel.
I would probably like AI to help people make more realistic Life Choices, for both boys and girls; men and women Then, adjusting for preferences and performance. See how it goes.
You both have initials M.B. (unless your real last name isn't Beat)
Mr. Dr. Baker, are you familiar with Dr. Walter Martin and his book/lectures on the Kingdom of the Cults? If not, you can find some of it here on RUclips.
Yup. Read the book decades ago.
2:44:48 and then there are people who want to say whatever they want without consequences 😢
Perhaps we could say you can't run for office after current retirement age 🤷
I'm still wary of that tbh
