I like that last hack you showed and I will try it. But I am wondering why every time I try to shoot from above, my videos become portrait even if I make sure to shoot landscape. Do you have an idea why this keeps happening?

that's definitely a downside. I recently bought an overhead tripod that came with a mirror attachment to help this problem...the mirror itself isn't great, but i think you could find a bendable rear-view mirror (the kind they make for bikes) on amazon that would let you see your screen while you're filming.
I wish more selfie sticks were made with the tripod attachment! Lately I've had a harder and harder time finding one that'll work, so if you know of a brand that's still making them, let me know lmao!!! They're literally so useful!

Adjust your lighting so that it’s coming from the front and sides rather than overhead. Lighting is tricky, i have dealt with this issue a lot!
I must be stupid, be course I can not see how my screen looks like when it faces the table. Harder to ajust the screen placement.
