Honestly the only vehicle for survival would be a bicycle. In Augusta GA after the hurricane gas was the #1 most limited resource. Lots of people got locked in Augusta because they couldn’t find gas to leave
This 500 EXC-F reminds me of my ex girlfriend. Fast, expensive, and aftermarket products bolted on! But she removed her hour indicator. So I had no idea, how much she had been ridden! 😳
I would be interested in seeing how much glare and reflection the turn signal running lights generate on the windscreen at night. I have the TM wrap LED front signals, which I love. At night, they light up my translucent IMS 4.5-gallon tank, which looks cool and allows me to monitor the fuel level easily. However, I have also seen on other bikes that bright LEDs mounted behind a windscreen can result in a lot of glare going back to the rider and limiting forward vision in the dark.
I have a KTM 500, but not sure if I'd rely on it during a bugout situation haha, maybe an XR650 or DR650 - more appropriate zombie apocalypse bikes I'd say!! :P
Yet another in a long line of epic Taco builds. Curious, is the brake hose relocation gear available for purchase, or is that an in-house build thing? On the verge of doing something highly irresponsible in 2025...
Any thoughts on the Acerbis 15L fuel tank for the bigger IMS 17L? All the builds you've posted have been using the Acerbis, curious if that's your preference?
@@TACOMOTOCO what's the difference in the tanks that would be the preference difference? As in, I'm assuming one is wider and lower (so more annoying to wrap legs around but lower center of gravity) while the other is easier in terms of stance but has a higher center of gravity?
For the advanced pnw singletrack guy, do you feel the 25 frame is going to be worth it for an exc 500? I think ill wait for a leftover 2025 since they tried to soften the frame. PNW single track 90% of the time is the plan. Love the content, cant wait to get a box of goodies from you all at some point. 😊
Mr Taco I love the bikes that you build and your detailed analysis of them. I can’t help but notice though that the base bikes are often the same. Is that because the 500 EXC and FE501 etc are genuinely the best out there, or is it the commercial factor (whether promotional or sponsorship strength) or are they just want folk want? Are there any decent (and cheaper) alternatives for a wallet-watching UK follower? Looking to sell my Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE and downsize to a true dirt bike but have limited funds available even after the sale
Crazy how were at a point now to where 20k+ on a dirt bike and 3 electronic devices with screens are a "must have". Just insane. Self justification is "bugout" but use a machine with under 3gal of fuel capacity.
I dont get the rally tower fad. Why add a shit ton of wieght a thing to slice your ass up when you go over the bars and the when it gets bent you have to replace it just to hold a freakin phone.
We’ve solved all those issues w the taco tower Weighs about 1/4 what a typical tower weights The screen breaks away And you have room for key, switch gear, oem display, multiple gps units, usb charger and other devices We’ve solved all the problems with a typical tower 😎
I see a ton of bikes now with steering stabilizer, is it beneficial out in the single tracks and woods? Wondered if it would be good on my 350 exc or 400xcw
I don’t know if it would be for single track and woods, but at high speeds or desert riding there certainly is. I think, environment agnostic here, what matters is the amount of bar movement and play based on the terrain the bike is going through. I don’t think it would hurt to have one on in those environments, but I don’t think the use would be as much compared to hauling ass on a desert dirt road or sand out here in Arizona. I faced that last ride going 60-70mph on a washboard dirt road out to a dam and felt the bars go back and forth. It’s the one time I wish I had the finer grain of control a stabilizer offers. Hopefully that helps or makes sense.
I don’t ride without one. Even at slow speeds I find it beneficial, really help when you blast a rock or root, those hits that normally try to rip the bars out of your hands are a lot less with a stabilizer
@@Slov_ Makes perfect sense now. Maybe when I get a 500 for some more BDR/TAT I would think about throwing one on. Would def not give any benefit to me on my woods bikes.
Definitely Mike Glover’s bike.
fits like a glover
Looking good! Taco magic sauce! 🪄🌮🏁

Surprise!
I love it!
Happy NY 🌮 Moto Mike and Co.

Satisfied 🖤
Another great bike;
Happy New Year!
Great video. Love this setup!

Clapped out? haha

great build.
Nice Build Mike.
My favorite graphics.
Nice build!!!
Will you be adding the rally tower to the website soon? I've been looking at various solutions for a while now.
Title is perfect lol

Love these TACO BUILDS! Where might I find topo graphics like these with TacoMoto and Mosko?? Thanks for all you do!
Cool right!
Email is for more deets

No rear brake snake?
No mirror blanking plug?

@tacomotoco can you guys do a tutorial on the front brake line setup?
Very nice build!
Any front brake hose failures from the flexing at the fender area vs. the up down movement near the bars? Stock hoses?

Now do my CRF300L!!! 🤣
It's a really cool build. Is it possible to add a list of parts fitted to this?
How do you get the plastic front brake line cover off tonrun it Yamaha style?
What brand of heated grips are those thanks !!!

25 has same frame as 24. They only adjusted the rear PDS and modified the swingarm. 26 will perhaps get the frame update though
@ oh thats weird. Seems like even gas gas 300’s got the fresh frame. Weird move by ktm.
I think the KTM MX models got it but for some reason the enduro models dont get the newest update

My missus asked...
Why didn't Glover get a mint 2019 with a kick start instead of 2024 with heated grips?
So you have the mother of all oil filters back in stock???

Does this tank fit a 2024 FE501
There are multiple tank figments for the 20+ bikes

Bug out 100klms? Is it enough
He better get a honda then😅

Steering stabilizer is a must. Complete game changer. Worth every penny.
I used one from 2001 till I stop riding, or buried lol
Is tacomoto worried about Ktm’s financial situation?
No, there will be a buy out or Austrian gov bail out.
Will things look different on the other side w new leadership and fewer brands, yes
LOL
YOLO
