    "All She Wants Is" was such an outlier track for Duran Duran at the time. It was so different from anything that they had done & so different from anything that was out there musically. It was ahead of its time. Love this song. It is such a great dance track. The 12" version was #1 in both the USA & in Europe. Before this song's release off of the Big Thing album, Duran Duran released their first single from the album, "I Don't Want Your Love," which reached #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Charts, & the 12" version also reached #1 in both the USA & in Europe.

    This album despite not being my personal favest by my beloved Fab 5 , had 2 super funky bombs. 'I don't want your love". and this one and I love the video to this too.

      I had the 12” of “I Don’t Want Your Love” on ALL the time. Still put it on. ❤

    One of their best songs. The Euro House Mix is a jam.

    Based on the reaction from your friend to "Planet Earth" & him thinking it was pretty cheesy, & this song being for ppl who like Electronic Dance Music (which that same friend today totally called it, bc it is in that club-camp of music: Trance, Rave, House, etc).
    I think it'd be cool to play them more lesser known, non-released singles; my personal favs for early on would be something like:
    *Edge of America (also fr/Big Thing; &I think a total forgotten gem that's even had a newish video made released for it's 30th anniversary due to a Nick side project)
    Fr/ Rio:
    * Hold back the Rain (studio version even tho no vid, but I think they can be distracting too often for 1st time listeners);
    *New Religion (also prefer studio w/o any official vid);
    * The Chauffeur (a fav of some harder artists & covered by Deftones, Chris Corner fr/ Sneaker Pimps, & Mega-fan JD fr/ Korn)
    Part of their darker side, like the latter 2 above:
    *Nightboat (fr/ DD Debut)
    - for this, you should check out YT for when Simon sings this song at 1 of the Smashing Pumpkins performances (there's a cpl vids w/ members playing at each other's shows- including 1 w/ I think BC & another member who play a song or 2 w/ DD, but if searching for both, the bands & NB song name, should show up; I may actually prefer it to the original… but Nostalgia makes it hard to be sure)
    Have you kept up with DD music past 80s or The Wedding Album fr/ early 90s?
    Bc there's so many tracks that shows off their versatility from their music over past 30yrs.
    Another thing to consider is asking what types of music they prefer, bc it's not real difficult w/ DD to find something close enuf…
    For instance, if they like funk, Notorious & American Science are good choices.
    Anyway, just some things to consider (even tho you didn't ask, sorry😊) but as usual thanks for continuing to play DD! As far as I'm concerned, it's hard too go wrong.
    Laterz,
    Liz
    (TX native who's still stuck here 😉)
    BTW-I think if Cardi B can get away with WAP, younger generations will be ok w/ this 1… 🤪

    Great song and video. I especially love the synths and guitar.

    No change ups in the back? There's a ton of stuff going on in the background and if you were alive at that time, you understood that the dark/techno sound throughout this song was probably close to a decade before it's heyday. Lots of folks didn't get it then and apparently, they are still missing it because of the moans to this day.

      Also, it’s “all she wants is more.” It doesn’t leave you hanging if you listen long enough.

    I actually liked this album quite a bit. Not my fave, but not Medazzaland, either. 😉 I also find it funny that this song might be considered “not PC” today when you have explicit, disgusting songs from Drake or whoever in the Top Ten streaming charts every single day now. 🤷‍♀️

      ASWI/Girls on Film/and especially The Chauffer are kinda artistic kinky video clips.But they seem like soft drinks without alchohol compared to some of the later decade's uninspired videos that are rather hideous and in which many scenes feature wiggling boobs and huge twerking fake silicon bottoms that are like the backsides of an elephant not to mention the awful '"music" and filthy agressive mannerism ,plus highly disrespectful- sometimes-sexist lyrics.
