- In 2018, Drift Games formed a new partnership with Drift Masters GP, which saw the combined teams set about creating the greatest European drift championship the world has ever seen.
70 drivers, representing 22 countries, would fight it out for the ultimate prize across 5 countries. This was unchartered territory and the championship would exceed all expectations in 2018.

Formula D needs to step up their game, the european events are so crazy
Seeing this, FD seems so boring to me now...
Formula D just swaps a v8 into any car they can find and call it a day

Even when they have an opportunity to make a new track from scratch, FD still manages to make another half a NASCAR track. I don't know why they are obsessed with banks that require 1000hp just to go a decent speed on.
@@criticalevent that’s because that’s what is has always been and what everyone knows it for the highest level of drifting with the fastest cars possible and they can’t use tiny go cart tracks when cars have 1300hp lol but yah I get you tho they need more tracks like Texas big and flat

I’m blown away with this movie, I’ve been following the channel since last year but somehow hadn’t seen this, and I was already a super fan but this made me respect Drift Games differently as a true creator of Legendary content!!
Europe owns drifting!!..tight technical setups give more opportunity for door/door battles and shows true driver capability!

Formula drift may have way faster tracks and cars (some would argue better drivers) but the production level of drift masters is superior it’s so much more entertaining to watch, big props to y’all Europeans hope I get to come out there one day and watch

Drift is with no doubt the most wild and agressive sport that we have in terms of championship where machines get a level of driving skills abuse like no other sport...
The European drift championship just show us how all of that combined can create extraordinary moments of pure wildness...
I´m glad this championship got this kind of quality level...
I kind of want drifting to go mainstream, but I kind of don't
The way drifting is now, there are still opportunities (although rare) for dedicated grassroots drivers to get to the pro leagues
If it becomes mainstream, then we'll start to see "dynasties" like we also see in NASCAR, F1, and WRC. In other words, we'll only ever see competitors like Deane, the Shanahans, Forsberg, etc. No more Paul McCarthy underdog stories :(
Hey James, we get what you're saying completely and agree ... that's why we've got the Drift Games Nationals series here in Ireland, which is all about keeping costs low, leveling the playing field and giving everyone a fair chance of winning on pure talent alone.
Then, of course, we've got the Drift Games Extreme series, which is the step up to the big leagues that drivers can choose to take when their budget, car and talent allows for it. A good progression system we feel, and one that can take drivers all the way into the Drift Masters European Championship and/or Formula Drift.
And also, trust us when we say the Shanahan story, much like that of many drifters, is far more humbling than you'd think!
What about James Hunt? Ayrton Senna, the Earnhardts? All underdog stories, we'll see so much of that, just cuz you got a budget, don't mean you can't run with the big dogs.

But remember that all of those guys made their name while those disciplines were still being developed, much like how drifting is still in development today.
This documentary style, shot lineup, and script was very well made. Well done!!
That's why I love drifting more than other motorsports. The drivers get out after the run and give themselves a high five. Even though one clearly lost they still are just having fun TOGETHER ;)
Watching this getting hyped for Germany 2019.. this final was by far the highlight of any drift event I've ever seen.. the whole event was just insane

I seriously feeling like the EDC/DMGP drivers drive 110% harder than the US or even FDJapan drivers do. Like they have anything to prove. I feel like the tracks are better,cars are better,girls look better,and the judging isn't nearly as hard than the USA FD circuit.

I'm gutted all the media has dissapeared from the IDC website. It's part of driftings history (like brooksies BDC videos). In a world of social media only careing about NOW.... Keeping a record of the past has to be important, if drifting is going to (one day) have the decades of legacy which other Motorsports have.
