I agree completely! His voice, his inflections, his timing, the personalities he gives to every character, the way he brings the story to life - he is absolutely amazing and once I heard him, I couldn't imagine anyone else voicing my stories! He's the best.
Jessie this book is beautiful! I had a 29 week baby and totally understand the NICU roller coaster ride, I too found the chapel and cried out to my creator, the trauma is a real thing. God is so good, their conversation about Earth vs Heaven was perfect. Jay you really brought the story to life, great job. You two are amazing.
❤❤❤❤ Oh, how I love EVERY story Jessie Gussman has written! She has such a talent of putting words together to help it take shape in your mind. Then Jay lends the voice and you are there! He brings the story to life. His voice is calming like a family member. Thanks for another series to look forward to! I love it and keep'em coming!
I love the narration of this book. Jay really brings the story to life. While listening I lose myself in the story. I enjoy all of this author’s books. I felt like there was a backstory I should know. This series is a companion to previous series Blueberry beach that I haven’t read. That didn’t prevent me from enjoying this book. It’s a great read and the author manages to fill her books with biblical wisdom and entertain you at the same time. This book is no exception. Kim’s husband cheated on her and has a baby with his new wife. Kim is pregnant and trying to move on with her life.
Thank you for such a nice review, Gracie! As you said, I think the Blueberry Beach books would help fill in some of Kim's backstory, but I don't think it's critical to being able to enjoy this one. And it works in reverse as well; if (when? 😉) you do go back and read/listen to the Blueberry Beach stories, this one doesn't spoil much for those! Thanks again for listening, and for leaving such kind words!
Another wonderful book by Jessie Gussman! Jay does his magic in narrating and bringing the characters to life as he reads. Thank you to both Jessie and Jay for bringing us clean and inspirational entertainment.
Jessie’s writing is always top notch. Complimented by beautiful narration by Jay, you can’t help but get hooked into every series. I am eager to start book 2 now. Thanks for giving me honest, pure reading pleasure.
Beautiful, heart warming story as everything falls into place despite the devil reminding us of our mishaps/sins. God's grace is sufficient. Thank you for the story and the narration ❤🎉
New to this author and series. Very refreshing to read a story that gives God the praise, glory and recognition in our lives. I am looking forward to the next one!👏🏽
Once again listening to Jay narrate Jessie's books add so much to an already fantastic story. I am so excited for this series, heading back to the town by Blueberry Beach. I felt like this story was so real, the experiences they went through, it was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. Jessie has such a way with storytelling, they bring such joy and peace.
Thank you, Denice! I agree - the Blueberry Beach stories just had this "realness" to them, and I don't think you'll be disappointed with Strawberry Sands either!
Forgot my review 😁 Wonderful story in a new series with a new location. Strawberry Sands is just a short drive from Blueberry Beach. Kim and Davis are such great characters that display real emotions. It brings tears when their baby comes early. Davis helps Kim strengthen her relationship and reliance on God. I adored this story and can’t wait for the next one.
Jay brings Jessie’s characters to life. He gives them nuance, emotion and attitude. You can hear Alyssa’s irritation and brattinesss, as well as Kim’s hurt, her regret and disappointment. He and Jessie make a great team.
A Great Start to a Brand New Series! A beach, two hearts drawn together by an unplanned and out-of-character encounter and the power of God’s redeeming love…what’s not to like? Jessie Gussman has created another heartwarming and inspiring romance that readers are sure to enjoy. And, Say with Jay definitely nails the audio book as he brings the characters to life. I received this book as an ARC reader, and this is my voluntary review.
I haven't tuned in for a while and found this new series. Touchs home . And the lil ones name is Cathleen. Thank You for yet another excellent narration of yet another excellent clean romance. 💕
I like this book very much, I did not know about the blueberry Hills series, so I will go back and read them. I love your growth of Kim and I also really enjoyed the narration. Jay did a fantastic job as usual the devotion of the hero.
I loved this start to a new series where Kim a forty-year old divorcee who is pregnant after a one-night stand with Davis, her ex-husband's business partner arrives in Strawberry Sands to rest and recover from her divorce in the house she inherited from her adoptive mother. She finds Davis living there when she arrives. Since he signed a lease, she allows him to stay in the loft apartment in the stables. He wants to marry Kim but she has trust issues after her bitter divorce. He also finds out that she is pregnant with his child. When the baby is born prematurely, their friendship grows. Do they get married and does Kathleen, their baby, survive? You will have to read the book to find out. The characters are wonderful and the small town of Strawberry Sands has loveable and caring residents. I highly recommend this book and the audiobook. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Hi, Narvelan - I totally understand. I do try to be as spoiler-free as possible; when I describe a video, I try to use only what Jessie has in her book description on Amazon (so, what anyone buying the book would already know), but if I revealed anything else, I apologize! It's a little different with the preview for the Episodes we've been doing, because each one naturally builds on the previous episode, but even then, I do try to be as spoiler-free as I can or at least warn everyone with a "spoiler alert". I'll do my best to be better!
Awesome beginning to a new series I love it I can not wait for what is coming next. Congratulations 🎊 and Jay you keep getting better and better I love your performance ❤
Oh man do I want to shake her daughter! Calling your mother...who was cheated on...asking for money from her, expecting her to fund your lifestyle, whilst insulting her. Such a rude, entitled brat! Oh boy I hope to see a change over the legth of the story.
Jessie has written a wonderful, heartwarming story that has me rooting for Kim and Davis as they grow their love for each other among visits to the NICU. I love Jay's many voices and his skill helps me become immersed in the story. Jay has perfect cadence. Some other voice performers are way too fast for me, and I don't enjoy them as much as I enjoy Jay. It's a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to listening to the whole series.
Kim has moved to her mother's home in Strawberry Sands as it's the only place she has left to go. She's grieving the loss of her mom, the betrayal of her ex, and the relationship between her and her daughter. She's not expecting to find the guy she spent one night with during a weak time to open the door. Davis wants a chance at a real relationship. Kim needs to tell him something. Will she give him a chance? How will he react to her news? What happens when her ex shows up and why is he there? I listened to an audio version of this book.
This book starts immediately after the last book in the Blueberry Beach series and our heroine featured prominently in the last book Tender Mercies. I’d recommend reading that entire series, but definitely at least that last book. It gives even more background and depth to our heroine. I liked this second chance, new start romance. The introduction of side characters I know we’ll see more of. Of course, seeing my daughter’s name and nickname in print was pretty special to me. This book had some definite heart tug times. I found myself swirling back through memories of my pregnancy and after. I am very curious to follow the story of the children introduced too!
Haha! Great point, Miss Norma. I feel like I've definitely done my time in the NICU. : ) When my youngest son was in the Danville, PA NICU, I was given a room very similar to the one I described in this story, only it had a (really amazing and huge) shower/bathroom. It was oddly shaped, but cozy, and because of the contour of the hospital the lone window had a really great view of a brick wall. If you leaned really far to the right, you could just see a slice of the parking lot. It was so close to the NICU, though, which was awesome, and I remember the nurses coming to get me more than once in the middle of the night because they couldn't get my baby to stop crying. That whole hospital was a wonderful and amazing place and I have almost exclusively happy memories from that time. : )
Oh, so nice, Patricia! I grew up with collies, and have always wanted a Great Pyrenees. I currently have a mixed-breed golden lab, who also has a bit of bulldog and a heaping helping of knucklehead (which varies by the day 😁).
@SaywithJay lol that would be the lab in him. I had a golden for my first service dog (this is my 3rd) I told everyone his brain was in his smart bump the rest was knucklehead. Lol quite the red head personality. He always forgot I have the same personality. Lol
When I saw the video for chapter 28 all I could think about is the salt water splashing up on their faces. The funny part is that I lived about 100 yards from lake Michigan for about 20 years. :) edit: That was quite a few years ago so that might be my excuse.
That's pretty awesome! As a lifelong Southerner, it's hard for me to even comprehend a freshwater body that large. It's definitely on my bucket list now! (Actually, where would you recommend to experience Lake Michigan like Jessie writes?)
I lived in door county Wi. which is very unique and beautiful but a little touristy. It's on the west side. I'm not that familiar with the east side. I would probably suggest going part way up the east side of the lake but far enough up to get away from the metro areas at the south end. That would probably match the book best. There are a lot of cherry, blueberry and apple orchards on the east side and it's very scenic. Sorry I wasn't more help. I have only been to the east side a couple times in my life. The lake is more like an ocean and most inconvenient if you want to do anything on the other side. Lake Michigan is over 900 feet deep at the deepest point and is estimated to contain 1,300 trillion gallons of water. :) I just found this video of door county and I recognize almost everything on it. It might give you a feel for the area I lived in. You couldn't go wrong going there but it's way north. Hope this helps. ruclips.net/video/m_jys9ZdOMI/видео.html@@SaywithJay

Thank you so much, Rebeccah! Personally, I think all of that is 100% because of Jessie's amazing writing, but I appreciate you saying that!
Looking forward to hearing the rest of this audiobook. It is starting out good.
