When I buy it, they'll release a higher-spec version, I think I'm the official sponsor of this company.
I'd love to see a more powerful version of Beam Pro. From my research, this uses Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, which is found in the likes of Sony Xperia 10 VI and Honor Magic7 Lite.
I'm actually quite interested in this device. Just for spatial camera and using other Android apps. Hopefully they'll launch 180 degree camera as well
Yes, VR180 camera would be good but glasses are not VR180 so unlikely IMO
You should really watch the RUclips review of this product, very limited output options
@@3dpfeeney what do you mean? in some early reviews they just couldn't copy the 3D recordings to other devices, but now it's really easy to do...
This phone is so futuristic. Would love to test this in the UK.
I kind of see this like the Oculus Go. It may be short lived, but it will seriously help AR gain traction in a non gimmicky way.
i have the x real beam and x real air 2 pro and i love them. only issue with x beam is the noise when it heats, not that big of an issue just a bit annoying, while the glasses i wished to have better nose pads, it hurts if i wear the glasses for several hours and leaves marks on my nose. thank you for everything.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience with us! We hope you continue to enjoy our products in the future!
I just got my beam pro and im playing around with it. I also have a first iteration of the Beam. With the first Beam I was able to cast my samsung dex screen from my android samusng 22 to my beam over a blue tooth connection. I cant seem to do that with the beam pro, i have to enable a mobile hotspot to use it if i am on the go. is that not a thing with the beam pro? or have i just not figured out how to do that?
I just want a pair of XREALs so I can watch RUclips in class
Idk how I'll feel about using a divicce that looks , feels , and acts like a phone, to use my glasses ... Especially when I can just use my phone .. now it's like carrying another phone with me ..
I'm just speculating, because I don't actually have the device in my hands yet .. but I did pre-order .. so whenever it ships and arrives , I'll actually know how I really feel about this device .. Maybe I'll use my Glasses more with a better "Beam" , so I don't have to use my phone as much when using the Glasses ( Gen 1 Beam too laggy , gets hot , just overall needed an overhaul and looks like we got it )
Gen 2 Beam We shall see ..
Hey there! When we were developing XREAL Beam Pro, we sough to address points made in our users feedback, and one of those was the desire to free-up their phone, but not replace it. Many customers who connect our glasses to their phones asked for a second device, like the first-generation Beam, which meant their phone was free of AR experiences through our glasses, and they could still glance to text or take calls. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on Beam Pro once you get the chance to try it out! 😎
@@XREAL_Global .. Thanks for reading my comment .. looking forward to receiving my order 👍🏾😁🙌🏾
@@unonice We can't wait 'til it's in your hands! 😎👍
Alot of phones like mine dont have displayport so you cant connect to it
@@kaylareed7200 .. yes I understand .. my Pixel Fold doesn't have USB Out Support, so even with the dongle accessories, the Xreal Glasses do not work ..
I'm blessed to have several phones , so it works great with my Samsung Fold 👍🏾 Dex is very nice ( it's like using a laptop that runs Android 👍🏾) ..
I also have the 1 Gen Beam for the Glasses , which works ok , but you know they would be making a 2nd Gen Beam , and they finally did and I'm definitely looking forward to receiving and seeing what it do ..
But yes @kaylareed7200 .. I understand what you saying 👌🏾
Does it work with other AR Glasses?
No.
Can you use different AR glasses on this device?
It's not very likely unless the Android version was modified. It will work fully with any of the existing Airs. Not sure about the Lights.
Here's the thing. Even if it is "just a phone with 2 USB ports" (it's not), that's still a good thing. I think people still don't understand why an app is such a limitation implementation, or why an iOS app is a waste of time and money / impossible.
It's cheaper than a full phone, it's got specialized AR features and it's a 3D camera. My only qestion is, what is the desktop mode like, and can it have multiple windows open; and my only concern is interacting with a touchscreen isn't my fav when the glasses are on. If you could add physical buttons to the back of it like maybe with a special phone case or something, you'd be able to use it in your jean or coat pocket without having it out and waving it around. Just a thought. Samsung Dex mode is a BIG deal.
idk lol, i think just same as dex , besides, it doesnt even support wireless pc gaming like phone does....
A sim card slot for mobile connection should have been a must. Or at least something like a Esim function like smartwatchfaces have them.
Hey there! We have two versions of our XREAL Beam Pro! A WiFi only version (in 6GB and 8GM configurations) and a 5G version releasing later this year! You can head to our website to learn more.
@XREAL_Global i couldn't find any information about the 5G Model. I have just received my Beam Pro today haven't even opened it yet. Can you provide more infos on the 5g one, especially about the cost, i will probably send my beam pro back.
Looks awesome.
Few questions
1. The spatial videos taken by beam pro.
Can they be viewed on other display other than Xreal AR glasses?
(For example, I can upload spatial videos from iPhone 15 pro, upload them to RUclips, then view them on VR headsets like meta quest and HTC vive”)
2. Can I connect the beam to other devices other than xreal ar glasses?
(Ex: connect it to meta quest headset to view the videos without uploading them to RUclips)
The first one will be a huge win to me if it can.
The second one will be nice if it does, but still acceptable if it can’t.
Hey! Thank you for your questions.
1. Yep! As long as the other device supports the following file formats, you will be able to play spatial videos captured on XREAL Beam Pro on them.
Here are the specs from our website
"Video recording format: H.264 (default), HEVC
Supports SBS (Side-by-Side) format spatial video recording, up to 1080p 60fps
Stereo audio recording"
2. XREAL Beam Pro has been designed to work with our line of XREAL AR Air glasses. You won't be able to enjoy the spatial and AR elements of the device if you use AR glasses outside of XREAL.

Dear Xreal PLEASE add the option to select the audio track in the 3D Player app!!!! Now we only can select subtitles, but no audio (language) track...
Did you have the battery specs and international version?
Sure do!
XREAL Beam Pro has a 4300mAh battery that supports wired fast charging and requires a 27W or higher power adapter. You can also check out the specs on our website!
Does it have GPS?
You guys should allow people to make calls and text through the Beam Pro (through the network carrier not just VOIP). I can see myself ditching my phone and just carrying the Beam Pro and Xreal Air 2 Ultras.
Thanks for the feedback!
Adding a 5G module to this device would definitely increase its price.
@@tama47_ No it wouldn't. 5G/4G networking is baked into the SOC.
Is it possible to connect the device by Bluetooth to my own wireless earphone which will work better than the speakers on the glasses, particular during flights?
Sure is! Beam Pro supports up to 3 Bluetooth connections at once.
When will you guys ship to South Africa. Location is not available both on official website and Amazon
H there! Thank you for your support and for your interest in XREAL. We have not yet launched in South Africa, however we hope to in the future! Thank you again for following XREAL!
Honestly, you'd make a killing here, consider expanding into previously neglected territories such as Capetown and Johannesburg.
Is there a 3.5mm headphone jack?
no
Hi there! XREAL Beam Pro does not feature a headphone jack, however you can connect your favorite Bluetooth headphones to the device!
Am I right in thinking that display input has been removed? If so, when is the improved beam 1 coming out? The one that does what the beam did and the stuff this does but all in one box rather than 2 boxes?
Has sideview gone or is this achievable somehow rather than a quick button?
Are all DRM Black screens no issue with this, especially interested in sky go since I have that working on beam 1.
Is 180 and 360 vr supported with Google apps, mainly RUclips VR videos but for native content too as my gallery app supports my VR shot on a gear 360 natively because it uses my phones sensors, will my glasses work with this as a sensor?
Really interested in ordering this, but I don't want it to be a step backwards, especially if I can't hook up a HDMI input and still have smooth follow or body anchor, that would be a massive oversight.
Hi there! Beam Pro has been GMS certified, so Google Play out of the box. It also have L1 widevine to allow for streaming from apps like Netflix and MAX.
You can adjust the screen size and position using the Mode button.
DP in is not available on Bema Pro, however you will be able to screen mirror and stream via apps on the Beam Pro.

Will all the features of the beam pro work with the original nreal glasses?
Hey there! Beam Pro works with the XREAL Air series, from the first XREAL Air to XREAL Air 2 Ultra!
I have XREAL AIR ver 1, can I connect with XREAL BEAM PRO? Thanks
Sure can!
When I connect my glass to beam pro the ar space doesn’t come up and it’s making me 😡
Hey there! Is it possible that you have toggled Default Air Casting in the My Glasses app? Double check!
Can you still use the hdmi to usb cable for hardwire gaming like the 1st gen beam?
No hardwire input functionality.
This is disappointing, WE ALREADY HAVE A PHONE IN OUR POCKETS! You haven't worked out the bugs of the original beam and your moving on? So we all wasted our money on original beam?
Hey there! We understand where you're coming from - we developed Beam Pro to free people from their phones and alleviate all the anxiety and hassle that comes from battery drain. Besides, Beam Pro so much more than a phone. Its the first device of it's kind; a purpose built spatial computing device, entertainment powerhouse with the entire Google Play library available out of the box. Add to that, everything about Beam Pro was purpose-made for AR, unlike today's smartphones. We will continue to support Beam and functionality that many customers love, like how it helps them connect to handheld gaming consoles and other devices. That remains a great option for many people and their use cases.
It’s not a phone it’s a personal spatial computer. If it was a phone then your phone could already do half the things this product does. But it doesn’t because it’s just a phone.
@XREAL_Global I have the beam then iphone 15 pro max and samsung 23 ultra why must I carry another phone! Intact anyone having any of these phone will not know you miss the point. Improve the app, add more apps to the apps and you get all xr and vr Competitor including Quest 3 which I own by the way. Just compare how many people will buy this to how many will have bought your existing device if things got improved!!!
theres a difference a beam pro has 2 spatial cameras and a mode button and its fast as shit and it has a snapdragon chip specifically for the spatial computing
@@XREAL_Global "Everything is purpose-made for AR" .. you have NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. Your software is so terrible! EVERY TIME I launch an app I have to make it widescreen and large. EVERY TIME. It's like no one there even bothers to test the most basic of uses. I'm sorry, but this entire device is both pointless and (in many ways) completely non-functional or at the very least unintuitive. Garbage top to bottom.
What’s the app market store based on? Android, iOS, or a custom store?
Hey there! Beam Pro runs on nebulaOS, a custom version of Android 14. It also has access to the Google Play Store and Google apps! Learn more on our website, xreal.com/beampro
The screen is off while the glasses are on, it just functions as a pointer / input source unless you want to use an app directly on it at the same time. Theres also hand gestures / hand tracking on the glasses , so you don’t even need to use it as a pointer if you don’t want to. I think the screen part is confusing people… it’s just an “added” benefit. Actually pretty cool you can install apps / setup / login without having the glasses on and with a legit keyboard if you want.
Just make it a regular beam but with a full android tv interface. I don't really want a touchscreen when interacting with AR glasses
true, i agree . touchscreen its just make more pricing.. i would love keep old design beam with powerfull android apps in it,where you can multi window more battery, and less heating. its what user want. not a anroid phone
Your screen is the glasses. The touchscreen is just a pointer when the glasses are on.
@@tapetwo7115Yes, but screens make using ar glasses difficult.
Say I’m mirroring a video from my phone, and trying to navigate to it through the glasses, it defeats the purpose. I now have annoying glasses blocking what I’m trying to look at until I can run the video.
The beam is a good concept with jank execution.
Upgrade the memory on the original beam. Give it more battery life. Enhance the interface and processing power so that web apps, like Chatgpt can run effectively.
But screens? Ruins the whole concept of the product.
If I was playing a game on my Steamdeck, and could see the screen through the glasses, I would never use the glasses with the steam deck. Same with any application or hardware.
I recommend you check out buying a regular Beam (or the adapter if it's still sold), a 1080p Android TV box, and a power bank or the Rokid Station (but it is very overpriced).
When can buy it in hong kong?
Website called komodo or something to that effect
At first I thought Xreal was an innovative company with great vision. Now I think they are on a wrong track and they don't seem to know what the users want. Who wants another smartphone?
Me. I've been wanting for a replacement since LG stopped making phones. I don't see anything in the market worth getting since they're not doing anything new and *stripping away features*
@@AntonioCunningham Well, what value does Xreal's inferior smartphone-ish device give you? It has two usb-c ports and that's it.
@@jc_777 With so many phones stupid decision to remove the headphones jack, having two USB C ports is a good thing.
Also having expandable storage makes is superior to so many expensive smartphones.
I don't care how good a smartphone claims to be. If it doesn't have expandable storage, *it's worthless to me* .
They’re focusing on hardware sales, rather than developing its own software (Nebula). I guess it’s an easier route from a business perspective. Devs are expensive but OEM hardware can be affordable.
They need to hire me. I have zip experience, am not an electrical engineer, nor a coder, yet I’ll design their interface, and their hardware layout, and show them what they need to be freaking doing.
They need to be the Vision Pro without the excess crap.
Add cameras to the pro version of the glasses. Improve the standard Beam’s memmory, CPU and GUI interface to allow for gesture tracking.
Get deals with companies for apps like RUclips, video consumption, and mobile AR map based applications- put an emphasis on these. Eg- apps that let you select your general interests in stores, locations, and what you’re looking for at that time. Maybe it shows you what the points of interest relevant to you are then and there.
Gesture controls, with air keyboards.
Take on the Vision Pro and setup your market before the competitors come out with the same idea.
If the competitors beat Xreal to this, Xreal’s market share will be done.
They have a moment to strike, and it is now. Two years from now? If it’s more phones, they’re done.
One of the other videos mentions a SIM card slot - but this model doesn't seem to have it?

Hi there! XREAL Beam Pro is available for pre-order on our webstore!
Pls just release the Nebula OS as an app for iOS/Android and everyone is happy. No-one wants to carry another phone.
We created Beam Pro to be the ultimate spatial computing companion for XREAL glasses. That meant addressing customers pain points, like device fragmentation across the smartphone industry. Even with a Nebula app, our glasses can't connect to every model smartphone. So we opted to create a device where we could help remove some of the friction caused by the smartphone industry's device fragmentation. We will continue to support Nebula and ensure our glasses work great on other devices. We will not take that away.
You can’t do what nebula is in a regular phone. The people thinking this is just a phone really make bad assumptions 😂

Fans: make sense.
Xreal: you need this thing tethered to get the nebula OS and battery experience.
Fans: What??? Why????? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Because you idiot Vision Pro provides over 10 times more pixels count + 3 times the FOV + everything done on it than use so called "not phone" to use it, it have M2 chip not "not phone chip"
What a dumb thing to do comparing the 2, carrying extra phone is dumb, make a software that works with phone instead
WHY doesn't Google produce something like that?????

All this is nice EXCEPT I use my beam for pc gaming and this CRAP has ZERO physical connection point for any devices. I was misled by xreal because they never said this so I bought one only to be let down when it arrived. THE ORIGINAL BEAM IS SO MUCH BETTER! I cannot find any use for this and wish I never ordered it. they should not mislead people by naming things the same that are not the same.
Hmm, maybe just the original beam would be better for your usecase. (I think it would just add screen anchoring and smoother follow anchoring tho)

How to connect Nintendo switch?
Hello. XREAL Beam Pro does not connect to the Nintendo Switch. You may use the XREAL Beam to connect your glasses to the Nintendo Switch!
Hi Xreal. I like Beam Pro, but do you have any plan to make the AR glass has higher FOV for next generation. 52 degree FOV is not enough..
Why add in this extra device that I now have to carry around? Why not just make an app that can interface with the glasses?? This doesn't sound appealing to carry around another device.
Hey there! We've addressed this comment a lot (even in this comment section!), and we understand where it stems from.
We created Beam Pro to be the ultimate spatial computing companion for XREAL glasses. That meant addressing customers pain points, like device fragmentation across the smartphone industry. Even with a Nebula app, our glasses can't connect to every model smartphone. Furthermore, there are still many devices that do not currently or cannot support DP output via USB-C.
We opted to create a device where we could help remove some of the friction caused by the smartphone industry's device fragmentation. Similarly, this fragmentation also includes the protocol differences between not only brands, but devices themselves.
Just received my beam pro today, so disappointed :( it's worse than the original 😢 it is so buggy that I can't even move the apps on the nebula home screen as it keeps freezing and leaving them hovering. It overheats so badly that watching a yourtube video is like watching cctv footage from decades ago where it skips frames. What have you released here? It's abysmal. Also I specifically asked if it would work with sky go and you said it would but it does not, external outputs are disabled, what did you think I meant when I asked if it would work? I don't care I can play them on the devices screen, I wanted it on the glasses. Even with the update it is still useless. Going back to the original beam and looking into returning this
Hey there! We're sorry to hear about your experience and we greatly appreciate your feedback.
Would you be able to share your issues with us in a bit more detail, as this does not sound normal.
If you are referring to Sky Go, the application from the Google Play Store, you should be able to use it on XREAL Beam Pro in the glasses! If you are experiencing a DRM issue, our team is working on resolving this in an update. We appreciate your patience.
If you are not referring to the Sky Go application, could you please share more details on your current set up? XREAL Beam Pro does not have video out, so connecting using wires to external sources will not work. You may continue to use your first-generation XREAL Beam for this.
With that, we want to thank you for being at the forefront of spatial technology and sharing your honest experience with us. We are excited to assist you further.
@XREAL_Global it is the sky go app, when you don't plug the glasses in then the app plays on the beam pro but the second you plug the xreal air pro 2s in it says that output is disabled as it detects it as an external monitor. This is also true of Paramount plus, that brings up the black screen of death while audio plays but no visuals.
The overheating I think is being caused by the inability to turn the screen off when it is detecting movement as it is trying to use it as a mouse, I press the power button to lock it but it wakes up at any movement, maybe I haven't found the option to disable this yet but if it is not there then that needs to be included as I want to have it on me, not stationary on a table so disabling the mouse until unlocked is a must.
@@craigguns Thank you for providing the additional information.
In regard to the issues experienced with SkyGo and the Paramount Plus app, our team has updated the DRM issue. Please try the SkyGo application again when you have time!
Similarly, in regard to the mouse issue, XREAL Beam Pro has an "anti-mistouch" button that you can use to avoid this. You can activate the "anti-mistouch" button through the "my glass" app, which will open automatically. On the XREAL Beam Pro screen, you will be able to use the "anti-mistouch button".
@XREAL_Global I discovered the anti-mistouch after posting my comment and yes that did solve it, as for the DRM, my glasses and beam are up to date according to yourselves and still the DRM issue exists. Your guys may need to have another stab at it and specifically try with the software and hardware you are shipping or relase the update to us. Also if they could fix the pause button on netflix as it doesn't recognise it, the only way to pause is using Bluetooth headphones or pressing back, the actual pause icon doesn't work anymore

You need to be more clear to tell people that the beam pro can run native android apps in 3dof while a phone with android nebula cannot run native android apps in 3dof.
Why does it have a screen? The point of a device like the original Beam is that you aren’t distracted by images on a phone’s screen shining through the image on your glasses.
You want a device that allows you to stream, surf and store movies, run AR apps, with an interface that allows for easy interaction.
Instead of a screen, what about a micro keyboard and mouse?
Or better yet, upgrade the glasses so they have multiple cameras, then when connected to the beam, allow for Vision Pro type gestures.
But screens? I don’t want to be lugging another phone, so the xreal is compatible with that phone that isn’t my phone.
Be more inventive Xreal!
It’s not a phone. It’s a personal spatial computer. Your phone cannot do half of the functions this product advertises. The touch screen is a pointer when the glasses are on. Let me be clear, assumptions are the sum of most people’s fallbacks and misunderstandings in life. 😂

@@XREAL_Global Have you considered making a fully functional phone to pair with these instead of another 3rd middle device? Or putting cameras in the glasses like metas raybans? Having 3 devices connected made the last beam too much of a pain between charging and overheating to be any real use since it felt as limited as the nebula app. I still prefer these to the new viture glasses but it still feels early and too inconvenient for real world use case outside of a bedroom or sitting on a plane.
