      Don't forget, HighLevel Radioactive Waste is dangerous for hundreds of thousands of years. And modern concrete only lasts a few hundred years.
      Thus, we're able to keep ourselves safe, and maybe our kids and grand-kids, but sooner or later that radiation is getting into the ground-water.
      To put it in perspective, if the first HomoSapiens had used nuclear 200,000 to 300,000 years ago, it would still not be a good idea to go anywhere near their high-level waste, or drink nearby ground-water.

    I saw a video recently where they showed masses of damaged or no longer serviceable wind turbine blades , and they where just stored in paddock because apparently there is no recycling for gigantic fibreglass blades , and these things are bigger than a semi trailer , not to mention they do wear out , break , and have a limited service life , and so need to be replaced periodically.
    So if Albo and Bowen ( Huey and Dewey ) are planning on having in excess of 17000 of these wind turbines with 3 blades on each windmill , let’s say in 15 years all those blades may need replacement…. Do the maths , that is 17000 times 3 sets of blades , that’s 51000 massive blades .
    If they are just dumped on land and let to rot how many acres of land will that need ?
    Should they pay some company to shred them , where are they going to put them , as I believe fibreglass would not be allowed in land fill .
    As always when politicians tell you the good bits to get votes , they leave out the bad bits .

    When i was approached by an Italian wind turbine company, 18 months ago, to install turbines on our prime farming land in northern Victoria, the very first question i asked was "Where is the bond kept?"
    Would it be in a transparent account?
    "Bond?" They said, "There's no Bond".
    I said, "ok, how do you guarantee you have the funds to decommission these tower's and rehabilitate the farm?"
    They said "After 15 years we divert a portion of the profits into an account, so we have the funds available in 25 years".
    I said "What if you go broke in 10 yrs?"
    Their response?
    "Well, you can cut them up for scrap iron, and remove them yourself".
    My response, "But you just said, there mortgaged to the ANZ Bank for $120,000,000 ?".
    "I don't think the ANZ bank will agree to that"

    Saw a vid about wind turbines. The principle is simple but the mechanics are insanely complicated. The windmill is slow rotation with high torque. A gearbox increases the rpm to around 1000 to drive the generator. The generator has to rotate at the right speed to produce 60 cycle AC.

    • @rjones6219
      @rjones6219 Месяц назад +2

      To add to your good points. The output has to be rectified, then turned back into AC, to match grid, frequency and phase. Typically this would be done in a substation, combining several turbine outputs.
      Or an alternative system, where they implement complex systems in the turbine and control the output there.

    So, it would take roughly 1,400 to 1,500 wind turbines, each with a 2 MW capacity and operating at a 35% capacity factor, to produce the same amount of energy as a typical 1,000 MW nuclear power plant. Just the amount of land required for those turbines is massive.

    The world needs a complete RESET when it comes to executive salaries.
    Starting around 1980, the ratio of CEO salaries to average worker salaries start to climb then
    explode.
    They are effectively STEALING from shareholders. And the big investment funds allow it.
    Remember they are JUST EMPLOYEES. and yet they get given absurd amounts of free shares and options with ZERO downside. If there is no downside, then we MUST eliminate 80% of the upside they are given by the Board of Directors.
    If the companies don't do it voluntarily and IMMEDIATELY, then the government needs to step in and FORCES the issue, with maximums set for CEO and senior executive salaries, taking them back close to where they were back in 1980.
    Many of these CEOs don't even knw what they are doing, and often do NOT add value.
    Just look how many supposedly well educated CEOs have gone WOKE in the past few years, utterly destroying shareholder value in the BILLIONS.

    This is just sheer stupidity. They don’t take it into account because it would make the cheap power much more expensive. So then the farmer and taxpayer is stuck with the bill. Yet the people who sold the power make a fortune on them. What a scam.

      Has this happened yet? If the turbines are already 20 years old they will not be compatible with the newer technology. The latest turbines are much bigger too. It's likely that they will simply build the new turbines on the existing property. What happened to the obsolete turbines? Are they actually going to remove them? Who pays for the decommissioning and land rehabilitation? Typically the old turbines are left to rot because of the high cost of removal and disposal.

    Wind turbines have a average ten year lifespan. And only survive with taxpayer money. So your taxes pay for the turbine and your monthly enrings to pay your electric bill.

    Excessive decommissioning costs were used to kill off nuclear, the only sensible long term zero CO2 power generating technology which when either the eco zealots stop the use of hydrocarbons or the hydrocarbons become too expensive will be essential.

    A coal powerstation was decommissioned in South Australia. The coal ash was just left and is still polluting the town and will be for centuries not to mention the coal mine itself a blot on the landscape forever. Who pays????

    • @margaretarmstrong2445
      @margaretarmstrong2445 Месяц назад

      The toxic waste from wind turbines, solar panels and BESS backup will amount to far more waste than coal mines ever would. They create massive amounts of toxic waste from the mining of necessary materials to build renewables infrastructure, processing of these materials, manufacturing, installation and end-of-life disposal. You need many times more of this infrastructure to match the capacity of coal, gas or nuclear and even then, it doesn't matter how much you install it doesn't work at all if the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing.
