How to Maintain Next Day Curls

- Here's how I style my curly hair the next day & how I go to sleep with this curly mop. I use very little curly hair products. I actually prefer bigger, frizzier hair but this video is about taming the frizz. I caught my routine using my fave tech gear now on my store: bit.ly/Mayatech....
I really don't do much to my curly hair on day 2 or 3. But on day 5/6 is when I actually invest in some hair energy with fun brushed out styles. I'll do a video on that since everyone on Instagram asks me about a hair style I posted. But yes, this is my curly hair, "next day" routine and more importantly, "how i go to sleep with my curls". This works for me. I don't ever suggest you do what I do but people have been asking and here is my response. Do what works and trash the rest!
I ran out of Shea Moisture's Curl and Style Milk and decided to experiment with Beautiful Curls Leave-In Conditioner sold at Wholefoods. I like it! No complaints here, but it's also too early for me to tell. Personally, the product doesn't have as much build up as the Curl and Style milk throughout the week. I feel as though the Curl & Style can be heavy for some hair and perfect for others. But, for me it starts getting heavy throughout the week if I keep adding it. I really want to try out that DIY flax seed gel. I wonder if that can replace all this store bought stuff...I'm turning into a product junkie and me no likey. Any who! I'll post more curly vids so if you have questions, als away and I'll try to film a video response.

not in the conventional way...my life is a workout so i really don't do the gym thing. but i will make a video at some point as everyone keeps asking :)
watch my curly hair playlist. i've never seen a curly guy try a two strand twist at night...that might look awesome! i have a tutorial on it, but depending on the length of your hair. i would just spritz with a spray bottle that has water and leave in conditioner. let me know after you watch my curly playlist and try it out. i'm curious :) maybe i should do a curly "mens" edition!
i think it's similar. both diffuse the air so it isn't as harsh. both are the better option for curls compared to a regular blow dryer with no attachement.
Girl, your hair is gorgeous! I was raised by straight haired people so nobody knows what to do with my hair so I keep it really short and thinned. I hope if I let it keep growing it'll be around your league. Amazing!

Curly hair is wonderful!
- Due to its natural tendency to be dry I can keep my hair for a maximum of one month after heat styling it
- I am able to wear my hair so many different ways while it is natural
- Heat styled curls stay
- Thickness
- Volume
The only con would probably be use of many hair products but it is most certainly worth it.
I love curly hair and I'm thankful for mine.
Oh my goodness, all those years I straightened my hair. It was not necessarily due to shame but due to not knowing to to deal with it.

Is there a way to maintain your curl pattern without doing a pineapple? Pineapples are uncomfortable to me.

flip your head upside down and wear a silk bonnet with your hear inside it and all collected up closest to your forehead, or try the plopping method with a silk scarf

how do you dry your hair? and which routine are you referring to? if your using a dryer without a diffuser that is definitely creating way more frizz. have you tried a two strand twist out? watch my curly hair playlist :)

OK, so this answers my question on the wash routine video! I am SO excited watching this video. My daughter's hair is EXACTLY like yours and your hair is gorgeous! People here in Rio de Janeiro go BONKERS over her hair when i do the curly look...put a head band or bow to the side and people MELT! OMG! lol Great videos, great personality! Happy to have 'found' ya!
i'm gonna keep it short for the summer then grow it in a little once it starts getting cold. but i don't think i'll let it grow long like before

OMG, thank you so much for your videos. My hair curls the EXACT same way and I have watched so many hair videos trying to figure out how to wear my curly hair and grow it healthy. Since my curl pattern is so tight when I would scrunch and finger comb, my curls would just do its own thing and to me look super UGLY. But seeing your curly hair routine has helped me SOOOO MUCH!!! Now I actually enjoy wearing my curly hair after a year of trying different methods!!!! Yay, luv ur vids btw!! ♥

how can i stop my hair from being stiff?? when i put my hair in a pineapple and take it out, my curls dont fall like yours
The products you're using are probably stiffening your hair.
ure either using too much gel or product or your hair is dry and needs moisture or your hair tie is too tight use a cloth hair tie not an elastic
discovering the pineapple hairstyle for at night was the best thing ever for me, cos it really does work!

oh i know all about that vicks head all too well! that happens when you cut the bottom hair too short. i generally cut my hair myself. if i get a mullet i ask my cousin Jeigh who is NOT a hair dresser, just an artsy individual but since he hasn't been around i went to the salon and they hooked me up :) i have a video about it

i have and i hated it! aloe does nothing for me. my hair absolutely needs product and i guess product on the heavier side. my hair was too dry with the aloe and as a result my curls had zero definition. but heck if it works for you stick with it.

look into canon's entry level slr digital cameras...or even nikon. i do however prefer canon for filming and nikon for shooting photographs...so if it's for youtube look into canon or both :)

Uggh i always love how your hair just perfectly falls out the ponytail.
Try washing your hair off with cold water (head down) after you're done washing the shampoo off. This will close the hair shaft (? I think this is the right word) just like warm water opens it up so that it can get the best of the shampoo and moisturizer. :)

The conditioners that I use is the Shea moisture restoration , organix coconut milk, miracle 7 with keratin, lorièl ever curl and the cremè one. Not sure how much slip these ones have

When conditioner has slip it just means it makes your hair easier to detangle and add moisturized Aussie moist is a good conditioner I use with good slip tresseme natural nourishing conditioner is another good one
