The BS that the Sgt talked about safety cars and all that had nothing to door with the fact that number plates are public information and there is no reason why anyone should not film them if they want to. When we were kids collecting car numbers was a hobby and there were I-Spy books to help you keep a record, that wouldn't go down well now with these clowns, would it?
When they start the BS about 'private' plates then tell them that they are filmed everywhere they go on the roads and if they don't like it then perhaps they should come to work on a bus or a bike or even walk. Stay safe Matt, nice to see Oscar looking good.

31:30 Pure gaslighting from the sgt about the unmarked cars being for the domestic violence team. The cars are not allocated to the team. All unmarked cars are pooled. And as for the number plates being shown on the internet for all the world to see - does he seriously think that someone would trawl through billions of videos to find a number plate when all they have to do is sit on the benches by the road and just watch. And then what can they do with it as it leaves the carpark, are they going to follow the unmarked car to work out where it goes. If the police think that could happen they should ensure that drivers take circuitous routes to the domestic violence safehouse and care less about the number plate which does not have any tracking on it.

Here’s a thought ,,,,,,,,,, what if any of us invite a person who works as a police officer to arrest us for taking a picture of a registration mark, then surely it would then go on to be a legal expert / judge that could put this argument to rest , ITS WEIRD THAT NO COP HAS TRIED THAT SO FAR

Caveat emptor, not with goods, but risk ------- You take the car to work, or on the road even, you can't expect it NOT to be filmed.
If you're that bothered, park round the corner ,and cycle or walk in to work.

Right ? I get tired of the 'If you film our personal cars...'
If someone wants to do bad things to an officer(s), then the officer(s) must have done bad things to them...
I'm certain that when they joined, they were made aware, that Policing can be a dangerous and sometimes lethal occupation - so thier claims of a risk to thier security is moot.
      It's called KARMA.

Is it not simply this? What does, "The Law of The Land" state? Is not everything else moot and opinion. Supreme Court Judges create and establish Statutory Law, not police or public opinion, the last time I looked.

I am appalled by this officer and the way he rapidly escalated a situation which his other officers did not appear to have a problem with and how he used totally un necessary physical force upon the gentleman more than once. In my opinion I would very much be afraid of even approaching this officer to ask him even for directions as he seemed unapproachable, superior, pompous and menacing as opposed to friendly, perhaps curious or engaging. I noted when his 'skipper' (not sure if he thought he was on a boat or knew his ship was sinking) came out to speak to the gentleman and yourself the change in the way he was (yet simmering away underneath like a volcano). This troubles me. What a shame he let the other officers down on that day.

being at a police station "to report a crime, etc" is not a "lawful purpose" for being there. its just that it isn't simply "being there *with* an unlawful purpose". filming on police premises also isn't an "unlawful purpose" on police property...
law isn't necessarily about "making things permissible". as the saying goes, anything in england & wales is within the bounds of the law unless there is a law that specifically precludes it, and that officer should know that very well...

As we get older we understand people's actions and mannerisms better. That cop is a bully and gets his kicks from pushing people around. we all can tell this and the sergeant too, they get away with it because it's too much hassle and paper work. A formal complaint from you Matt would make them look at the cop on the record. not just a ticking off.

I’m sure that cop loves handling children in that special way more that manhandling old men (19.55). He is ignorant of the law and very arrogant, violent and uneducated. He seams to be use to getting special favours because of his uniform. If, if you need a genuine reason to be at a police station, it is not up to him what that genuine reason is. Filming is and always has been a genuine reason.
