Absolutely brilliant composition, one of my all-time favorites. Thank you for blending sci-fi with classical and 🎸 music. It changed my perception of what music could be ( along with Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth).
    Thank you!

He lives in the house that the 1962 and 1968 F1 World Champion Graham Hill used to own, a large mansion just outside Shenley in Hertfordshire. Graham's son Damon Hill was the 1996 World Champion.

I remember Christmas 1977. I was only eight and my oldest brother who's six years older than me got the war of the world's double album on vinyl. For this reason (apart from the fact that it's a bloody good album) the album and the music will always be magical and nostalgic to me.

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of Spartacus (from 1992) really highlighted how much of a lightning strike moment The War of The Worlds was... and, fairly or unfairly, established Mr Wayne pretty firmly as a "one trick pony."

I once done some graphic work for this guy. He was performing an anniversary concert and a small team of us put together some graphics for the backdrops. I never got paid. None of us did. Glad to see he’s still immensely wealthy though.

@@grrinc That's sad to hear, but is an unfortunate fact of life sometimes. It's pretty spectacular that Jeff Wayne has been able to live off that single album for the better part of 45 years now.

It's a shame your copyright holders won't let anybody make a full CGI to WOTW. There are talented people on here and a CGI with the album would attract more people. I've seen every live performance and visited the VR in London. If it wasn't. for YT showing how good the show is, my family and I would never have seen it. There are already loads of uploads of the original album on here, so what is wrong with letting someone create a CGI with it.

BBC and Amazon take note; keeping to the original author’s vision, can’t fail to win over audiences. Enough with these modern scriptwriters and show runners giving vent to their egos and changing original stories to fit modern agendas.
