Iv just started playing again last week and already improved a bunch doing training maps but I was considering switching boost from B to RB and have air roll on X and B instead of the bumpers, is it that beneficial? I’m not sure how often you need to jump and boost simultaneously.

It starts getting really important when you start wanting to do more fast moves and certain other tricks in the game like the speed flip or fast aerials, right now my set up is air roll on LT and boost on RB. However I’ve never tried air roll on the buttons but I’ve had a teammate that switched from air roll on buttons to on triggers or bumpers. For me personally what I would recommend is getting comfortable with the base controls/getting better at other aspects in the game first and shedding off any rust before thinking about swapping buttons as that’s how I slowly got better. When you feel like you’re ready I think changing boost to RB and air roll to LT or LB will be really important to start practicing more moves. In the end whatever button is comfortable for you will be the best button for improving at the game. Just make sure to consider changing buttons whenever you start hitting a road block. Hope you enjoy coming back to Rocket League!

@@ninjAlex2k6 thanks! I now have air roll left on X and air roll right on B, air roll on LB also for speed flips (I haven’t got the hang yet but just future proofing myself) I managed to complete the speed jump hoops map on bakkas mod with these binds so I’m happy they’re working just need a few days now for the muscle memory to kick in 🤣 Iv noticed I can fast aerial way more reliably with boost on RB rather than trying to fat thumb it, it seems like the way to go if you can’t use paddles
