@@ManagedPan1kgot to playing too passive following Luke’s advice. At some point you have to play fast and chase a bit to get good. While still rotation backpost obviously. I just found myself not being aggressive enough on offense. I pretty much stopped going for aerials there for a bit after listening to flakes. Balance is so important
I recently started working on powerslide and bounce dribble in free play, and it makes the game more fun! Forget ranking up, it just makes the game feel better

Ok. so i doubt luke is gonna see this comment but your style of no bs straight to the point coaching, while still giving important details makes this the best video for rl coaching i’ve seen out of hundreds. i really hope you continue this style in new videos, as i felt that this was just so much more helpful

these tips are so good. i have gone from hardstuck C2 to pushing GC1, life is great and the defensive tips especially are amazing for someone like me who used to be like "time to learn a ceiling shot musty double tap with a tornado spin" every time i lost a ranked game. luke, your content is amazing.

As a keyboard and mouse player because I have WAY more hours and experience on the pc than on the console, this helps a lot. I’m definitely gonna try practicing these, especially power slide. Because sometimes I wonder if I’m doing a certain mechanic wrong or something. I’ve watched loads of videos and tutorials on how to get more goals and I’ve had so many of them tell me to just hit the ball and have more confidence. While the confidence thing is true, I can agree that hitting the ball accurately is extremely difficult.
Man it’s so much better seeing you (by you I mean ANYONE) comment something like this, stating how hard it is to sometimes do even the “simplest” things in game, rather than a whole thread of people posting about how they are GCs who “have no clue how they made it that far!” I swear if everyone who says they’re a GC truly is, there would be no Platinum or Diamond players at all in Rocket League. Good on you for being real bro, I applaud you! 🤝

i’m a believer… Luke’s advice has already massively improved my own success in RL without a doubt.
Being able to bounce dribble more consistently has moved me from gold to platinum in just a month. It really does work.

i agree, you dont need super flashy mechs to get gc, but with me, ill go for something like an air dribble if the opponents arent in or near net and if im consistant enough. you dont have to do that you could just score, its up to you.

I have used joystick airroll for so long and just last night I decided I wanted to try and do both airroll but it was really awkward for me so I’m glad to know I don’t need directional for champ

the Arial off the wall into a musty flick is an undefeated mechanic to learn if you master it you will feel like a god ngl it's really hard to defend unless you're pro level and can read it every time
When Luke says stuff about defense I like to say to myself “can I save my own shots” this makes sure my defense is always comparable to my offense

The information you give is making someone like me that doesnt do much comp tons better than my diamond friends, I am going to do more comp next season and see where I can get my self with your tips, I spend most time in training to be honest
single/double jump pops and double taps are the two that carried me outta diamond. Below champ most players ball chase. A lot of the time as well, they struggle defending backboard. Just my recommendation :)

My whole life I've always used joystick air roll for aerials and air dribbles etc. (I'm kbm) and I just learned not to long ago I was suppose to be using directional air roll for all of that.

When I 1st learned how to do single jump pops in Plat I felt like a God. I scored so many goals lol. The good ol days.
Honestly I agree with you, I'm a Plat and low diamond and honestly I got to diamond because of these mecs just in a few weeks

bounce dribling is actually great since i used bounce dribling i went from gold to diamond

Yes it just like shooting a free throw but you have to be consistent and have the right technique to master it every time
He’s right about getting to champ just on defense and not leaving the ground honestly. Im champ and I was trying my hardest score and be fast and I was losing to bots. Then i tried barely trying and I would win games just defending barely using boost and barely leaving the ground. Power slide and double jumps are op

i unfortunately got gc with mainly game sense and basic mech, got like 6k hours, and the skill ceiling is higher now and people have better mechs, so there is only a couple days left till this season ends lol, so im finally gonna put time into my mechs and finally pick up directional air roll and so far, i have already started getting some flip resets, so much easier to get them with air roll right then it is free air roll, but i still need practice, im just tired of being the positional player lol, thanks for the video Spook
I'm high champ 3. I'm constantly training and trying new things to advance my gameplay. idk why but I'm just stuck. haven't seen GC once. Going to try out these tips & see what we can work on.

PS, eating less isn't how you lose weight. Just watch all the Carnivore stuff you can and that will explain most of it to you. It is what you eat, not how much, you won't overeat meat and fat, Carbohydrates are killing Americans.

I have to say I learned how to semi air dribble before some more important ground stuff and I highly regret it!!!! I often find myself flailing around in the air while my teammate watches me struggling in confusion. Don’t learn the flashy stuff if you want to rank up fast.
The power slide part made me laugh so hard im he trying to get good in the air an re learn all this fancy air stuff meanwhile i struggle to half flip and as it turn out i power slide wrong haha also going to try the shadow defence an try learn the bounce dribble also i cant directional air roll left or right i just air roll when i have too . Anyway thanks for the tips man ✌️

It’s funny because I never thought about not mastering direction air roll in low ranks because goodold plat me had never been good at free air roll and was cracked and only used directional air roll. Im not the average rl player
W tips, I'm more gonna practice defense and bounce dribbling, with a hint of arials.
Ngl when I play rl I still get that freeze thing that was going around like a year ago its so annoying so I don't do comp anymore

I love your vids Luke, sorry you have so little confidence that people would see things like this through to the end. If you have trouble convincing people how effective bounce dribbles can be, show them some Khalid game play. Ever since I saw him on Johnny's channel, I've been in awe of what bounce dribbles can do. Still can't do them, because I don't practice even a tenth of what I should, but their efficacy is undeniable.

my friend has learned double jump aerials not fast aerials now he flies more than half way across the field. tried explaining why he shouldn't be doing it but now he is addicted. luke is there anything you can do to break him free from this addiction?
Im plat just about Dimond and I use double jump pops it works sooo good!!!!!
I have his same approach but I'm in silver this season half my rank matches this season dipped it feels like I'll nvr get back to plat

I accedently learned to use directional air roll and I never use free air roll. I’m a gc2-3. but this is way harder than just learning one air roll and free air roll
I used to be able to do half flips and fast ariels but my controller buttons have been sticking and my stick drift is bad
I had no idea there was such a thing as joystick air roll...mind blown
I literally strictly only tune in for the passive aggression.
I’ve been using your videos and because I don’t use flashy stuff my friend says I get lucky goals and I should not be c1

Lol when I play with my plat friends I always try to hit the ball high where it floats people in plat to even low diamond struggle to save it.. we call it the plat floater
Throttle control is my bane. Finessing that button is so difficult for me 😢
