Bird-faced Urn is highly underrated. I had a bottled Nightmare + Sadistic Nature with the urn, so I would just heal a bunch on turn 2 while dealing 28 damage on every debuff. It also helped I had a Mummified Hand, and a few more powers as well, but I was happy I saw the combo since Nightmare is usually difficult to play around.
it was genuinely and objectively the wrong choice when he already had bird faced urn and playing on defect. powers are almost inevitable on defect. he had me nervous for a second there too
@@lowestCommonDenominatorchat talked him into it. There's definitely cases for self repair. I don't think objective is the right word. Considering he is only gaining 4 HP per full combat. The extra 3 is helpful.
@@BowForGlory Objective is always a strong word. However I feel that one focus is a much bigger deal than +3hp, over multiple turns that one focus can save you easily more than 3hp.
@@BrillouinBoiYou can do this against scaling enemies too, so long as your scaling is faster. Time Eater is probably the easiest fight for Defect to play scaling then hit end turn in the game for example
I just recently beat A20+heart for the first time with Defect. I also had Torii plus Tungsten Rod. I had no idea that Static Discharge would still work vs the heart with those relics. Only reason I accomplished it.
Works for me. Start Slay the Spire first, then in OBS I go to Sources, I added a Game Capture, and then for mode I select Capture specific Window, and in Window I choose [javaw.exe]: Slay the Spire Then I open up the Slay the Spire window again and there it is on OBS.
Creative AI was good, but the full heal potential was unnecessary with self repair and multiple powers with bird faced urn. The long term scaling was also not that great with 4 focus minimum from defrags and extra orbs from capacitor. Better than skip, but worse than seek which offered immediate card draw of the thing you want which is very strong.

My man Baalor with another classic Defect run 🤙
I cannot believe you considered upgrading self-repair over Defrag, always interesting to learn other peoples intuitions about this game!

@@BedrockBlocker I agree with that as well.
@@BedrockBlockerbut as you said, it depends. It requires thought as to whether it makes more sense to go for self repair or defrag
Potions at the top of the screen for most of the run be like 🧿🧿
It makes a face with the old coin :o
What’s the highest number of focus you’ve had in a Defect run?
There are probably scenarios with non scaling enemies, inserter, frost orbs, and a consume where you can collect as much focus as you want.

It's no wonder the Defect can predict storms so well. After all, they're a Cloud Engineer!

orrery no ;-; its such a satisfying relic. like opening a pack of cards
Hi Baalor, can you please tell how you capture slay the spire in obs? cuz for me it only works when STS is in windowed mode

@@tuhaggis I'll try it out, much thanks!
i swear hello world was already mastered
No, YOU'RE nuts!
37:10 is that the Diablo 2 streamer?
what a clean champ fight, dang
Decided to buy StS just because of that guy
why is dupe pot better than liquid memories? Isn't liquid memories just a dupe pot with extra options?
Dupe pot can be used to double powers, so likely makes it a bit better especially on defect
My grandpa's deck _has_ no... cards...
That strange spoon putting in overtime this run!
I can’t really understand why you don’t upgrade dualcast. With this many orbs, I thought 0 cost dualcast is quite important
Probably because the deck has too much energy already.
If I don't get defrag in act 1 I just lose. Am I doing it wrong?
Yea

im sure champ's real name is Saint-Jacque Nicholas de Monseigneur
Big deck defect tm
✈
1:28:08 card remove was a waste of money. Those hello worlds are gonna add so many cards it makes the remove worthless.
When you first draw thru your deck its not worthless to be more consistent
You're not forced to play the hello worlds either-
I rolled my eyes after you haven't picked up that Creative AI after the Champ fight.
