@@DerpDerpson my 3070 can run some games I play at over 200. With vrr the 240 would be great. My only problem is that HDMI and DP switches I've tested usually don't work well with some monitors even though they should be compatible. They run fine, but then black out for 1-2 sec every like 5 min on 4K resolution with above 60Hz refresh. Making it pretty useless. I would really like some reccomendations on something with 3 to 1 switch which could take the full 4k 240Hz HDR... If Monitors unboxed could cover such things it would really be a god send... I've gone through 4 different switches so far. None working for my 4K 144Hz monitor. About to give up :( and worrying it would be the same for this one.

    • @Cowclops
      @Cowclops 9 месяцев назад +1

Text clarity will definitely be better on this 32" 4k over the 27" 1440p LG and 34" ultrawide 1440p displays simply because there are a lot more pixels, but this reviewer also made some subjectively true but not exactly correct statements about the older 1440p screens. Windows cleartype doesn't work AT ALL on LG WOLEDs - not only does it have the extra white subpixel, it doesn't even put the remaining pixels in order of R-G-B from left to right (its R-W-B-G) which means neither BGR nor RGB subpixel sampling can work without green in the middle. Text clarity needs to be tested with cleartype completey disabled through registry edits.
Not exactly his fault, but Microsoft has missed the memo that we're entering an age where cleartype does more harm than good and needs to be disabled by default and, MAYBE, left as a legacy "Turn this on at your own risk" feature for power users who want their crisp monitors to look like misconverged CRTs.
As far as the text rendering on the 1440p qd oleds... they're correctly RGB from left to right but the triangular structure makes it a little bit more like rGb. Cleartype doesn't really hurt, but it doesn't really help here either.
I think text quality needs to be judged w/ proper monochrome anti aliasing or sharp pixels w/ hinting going forward, or else displays are going to get displayed for the shortcomings of the operating system.
TLDR: Nothin fixes font rendering like upgrading from 1440p to 2160p then upgrading from 100% dpi to 150% dpi scaling setting. 18 point fonts with anti aliasing are always going to look better than 12 point.

I really want to see the dual mode 480hz with BFI to get an effective 960 Hz that way we are at near picture tube motion
If you could give me the effect of motion on a CRT via OLED then that will get rid of my complaints about screen burn because we will have a display at that point that reaches parity with old school tube displays

The new LG panel will have BFI? Or are you just hoping for BFI?

@@Simon_Denmark I think one of the Asus models that has dual mode IE 240 and 480 HZ offers BFI but we don't know what the limitations will be. I would like a blur Buster's strobe utility compatible monitor that has adjustable modes 60 HZ strobing with 4480 HZ scan out, etc.

Please comment on the scratch resistance and durability of the coatings in future reviews. I would b extremely grateful for this

We made it people! It's finally here, 4k 240hz oleds! We are finally entering the end game for monitors, from here on out they can only get brighter, higher refresh rate and cheaper over time, what a time to be alive!

End game is ultrawide 4k....16:9 in 2024.......disgusting.

@AAGAIUVand microLED or something similar or even better. Maybe they should start using the process to make CPUs to make LEDs lmao.

@@drunkhusband6257So your end-game is idiotically paying full price for the bottom-half of the scren of a full-size one?
I've seen you spam your "ultrawide love" in all the comments here and at this points it actually looks pitiful as if you're trying to convince yourself, mind you.
Assuming you're not a not that is.

@@SrSamuerto MicroLED is inferior to OLED in most ways except brightness and endurance, and brightness isn't even a pro for indoor use, double so in the ideal conditions for the glossy finish of these.
For the "endgame" it's easier and faster to R&D endurance on OLEDs like they've been doing with QD and double stack, than it'll ever be to reduce the manufacturing costs of MicroLED to even make it a reality and to reduce the horrible latency they'd have...

Because ultrawide is superior, in every way. People should move to the better experience, and stop playing at 16:9 with blinders on.@@gerardopadilla2666

Still no DP 2.1? Why won't they do it? How much extra could it possibly cost to put 2.1 instead of 1.4?

It seems that only HP will be using DP 2.1 on their 4K 240 Hz QD-OLED.

    Up until 2 years ago, my secondary monitor was a 15 year old 720p (1280 x 720) 50hz monitor.
Fun fact: 240hz 4k is (3840*2160*240)/(1280*720*50) = 43.2 TIMES more pixels per second than my old monitor.
240hz 4k is almost 2 BILLION pixels per second.
