This has to be the best video I’ve seen on brown patch! All this time I thought nitrogen was causing my issue. It was really my over watering coupled with horrible soil from newly constructed house.
Thank you for your videos, I feel like my brain is literally expanding from all of the information I am learning by binge watching the channel. I've been running DiseaseEx exclusively for 2 years, but now planning to rotate in Propiconazole or Eagle. I might swap the DiseaseEx for Fame next year to see if I notice a difference. Moved into my house in summer 2018 and the sellers let the lawn go, the brown patch that year nearly took me down. I never want to go through that again.
This was amazingly helpful. I have brown patch for the first time. Put 1 lb of nitrogen down once it showed up (2 lbs for the spring so far) and a really expensive fungicide I got from a landscaping store. So far it hasn't spread anymore and I think I am seeing some regrowth from the diseased plants. Finally stopped raining so that is good
Im using a pond for irrigation its about the size of a hockey ring, it is running water my question is should i be worried about using pond water? Could i be spreading a fungus and not knowing?
The only grass that was impacted by fungus was the GCI turf grass that I planted last fall. It came in very good and it look great April, May and June. The first three weeks of July the dollar spot hit hard and fast but only on the areas that were GCI seed came up. Was planning to overseed this fall again with GCI - now I am not so sure????
P J Flintstone there are no elite varieties of fescue that are immune to fungus. Just bc it was GCI turf grass doesn’t mean it won’t get fungus. Plus if it is dollar spot, then it will just grow out of it anyways and recover just fine.
I saw what I believe was gray leaf spot in tall fescue today. Reason being I didn't see the black fungus between the brown lesion and the healthy grass on the blade. I'm going to look into this. May just be heat stress. A month ago I got a new client with brown patch and someone had scalped his lawn. I got the job. I put Headway G out because he has grandchildren who play in the yard and he didn't want spray. I also added 1/2 pound actual nitrogen per 1000 square feet. One week later we had regular good rain which made the lawn green, growing well and the brown patch was subsiding. Thank you Pete and NCSU (Go Tar Heels) LOL.
Just thinking what if you used a liquid aeration to help the oxygen and water flow better through the soil. Is that a possibility? Also what’s the best way to water in the summer with a sprinkler system. If there’s a video can you reply with link
Hello from up here in Massachusetts. I applied my 2nd milo app 7-16-18. Added some lime too as my ph was bit low. I'm seeing some brown spot on my lawn not as bad as this video though. Can I add propiconazole after these applications I mentioned? I was gonna use the granular Headway G product.
I just saw this video, what a great video, I am having the same identical issue. What fungicide is used for how can I contact you. I live in South Carolina, can u travel to treat. Desperate. Thank you
Is it possible that my lawn mower blades are dull? I’m have trouble determining if my yard has brown patch or if it’s because of the blades. We’ve had only a couple of days with 80 degree temperatures here in Oklahoma so far.

Rob Hawkins tell your client liquid fungicide once dry will not harm them in any way
This is one of the best lawn care videos on RUclips. Awesome.
Will bluegrass and fescue grow back or revive after brown patch and dollar spot fungus or will it just become a dead bare spot?
Brown patch does not effect the root system and it will grow back.
Wish NC States athletic program was as good as it's turf program!! GO PACK!! oh and great video , very informative!

What is the recommended professional fungicide preventive? HeadwayG?
If one has brown patches, why not tear out those spots or use lawn killer, and go plant need seeds?
Henry Chavez fungicide will clear it up without killing the grass
