Thank you so much for posting these guides. Fairly new to DCS, and still learning in solo and have got to stage where confident enough to mess with the editor to try creating missions myself. I've watched some decent guides for tips, but can honestly say learnt more new things and features in this video than probably all the others combined.
Just discovered your DCS mission editor videos. One thing about the DCS mission editor is how creative everyone can get with it. Even with as much time that I've spent in the editor I always find a useful tip from someone else's way of doing things. Going to go through all your videos and check out your "style". Hopefully, you're making more mission editor videos as I just subbed for that style of content.
I will be! Sadly I have had alot going on in my professional life which has gotten in the way of videos recently, but there are some more in the pipeline, as well as some stuff that will hopefully focus on mission ideas for apache pilots too :)
@@yetanothergamingfail Good to hear and I look forward to your efforts when you get the time. As far as the Apache goes... Being a USAF vet, I'll be passing on that. The only interest I have with any helicopter is shooting them down. 😉 The new stuff I'm excited for is the South Atlantic map, F-4E Phantom and the F-15E Strike Eagle. Those are what I can't wait to get a hold of.
@@billcedarheath387 myself and my wingman frenchie would like to do a Falklands war 2 mission set, which I also plan on making available to people on the user files. The concept would be a short campaign playing as the British and Americans joining forces to fight an Argentine alliance during an international oil crisis. The concept is there and will take some time to perfect, especially as I am not too savvy with how a "real life" mission might have been assembled, but I have the advantage of an ex F15E pilot for me to throw all my questions at, so I'm sure I can iron it out. I would also like to take advantage of the upcoming expansions to the syria map, and the F4E (when it releases) as both a blufor and opfor aircraft. Finally I also want to do some programming tutorials for the mission editor as the data out there isnt always so great and it's quite a powerful tool. Once my work life balence is sorted back out, I shall go back to my original schedule of a new DCS mission/mission editor video every wednesday 😁
@@yetanothergamingfail I agree the mission editor is more powerful than most realize. All you need to do is look at some of the fantastic campaigns that have been made. The Raven One campaign is a shining example for one. I think there is opportunity for someone to jump in on the mission editor's capability and how to use aspects of the MOOSE Framework to make fantastic stuff. I've started to look at MOOSE recently and wish there was better tutorials/how-to tips it. Im not sure if you're experience with the mission editor has used MOOSE, but in looking for information on it is how I came across your channel. Something for you to consider perhaps.
I may be wrong, but the extra callsigns only seem to work with the Hornets, so could possibly be Campaign related (i.e., if you own certain Hornet Campaigns, it's probably added updated core DCS feautures to enable the story telling of the missions, they already add liveries, so why not callsigns and associated audio?) I may be wrong though, I haven't checked many other aircraft.
I've found that the hornet, harrier, A10 and more have new callsigns, but there is no audio in the base game for these. I suspect the ATC overhaul will change that, but only time will tell. I must admit, I don't think I've ever done a campaign in DCS, even the free ones, as I've spent most of my time making missions then flying them 😁
