Hi! Unfortunately no - What I do is I tend to work in order of "ease" of testing, so: - Set up AI and test them performing their tasks - Set up Player aircraft (doesnt need testing) - Set up Player objectives - Set Player aircraft back to AI - Test player objectives using AI - Set player aircraft back to player control This means I can test all of the features required for a multiplayer mission with only one person - and I dont have to switch between VR and my normal display constantly for the editing process. Hi! Which map are you editing, have you loaded into the map and looked around the world since you started the game? I often find that if the map isnt loading, try restarting your game, then try doing "fly mission" and just letting it load up - if its still not working, let me know and I will see what else I can think of! Is there a way to make a vehicle have multiple waypoints with a late start described in the video? I can't figure it out. I'm trying to have him leave a parking lot, drive down taxi ways toward a building where I want the vehicle to park. Thank you in advance!
Hi! Yes of course, - place your vehicle - check "late activation" box - add waypoints you want the vehicle to drive Then, in triggers: - add new trigger and name it - set your 'condition' to be whatever you like (for testing purposes I like to use the "time more" and set to 30 so it will only activate 30 secons after the mission starts) - create new action and set it to "group activate" - on "group activate" action, set it to the vehicles group And that should do it! Hope this helps :)

I have a question...can I give a score to the blue faction if I set the "group alive less than" option in the mission goal? I set a value below 25% but if I destroy the enemy group it doesn't give me the assigned points. can you help me?

Hey! I am in fact still alive - I really want to put something else out soon, but I've had alot on personally, buying a house, got a busy job and also started a business for which I also run a youtube account, so it's really knocked my schedule My plan is to start doing videos with higher production quality and avoid a "regular" schedule - what with DCS being updated all the time it makes it difficult to stay up to date I imagine it's not unreasonable to see something from me in the summer, especially once I've found the time/funds to start working on my sim pit 👀👀
@@yetanothergamingfail well DCS went to a 6 week update schedule so it should be easier to keep up to date moving forward. Have you looked into the scripting aspect of DCS World Mission Creation? It is quite powerful and easier to migrate between missions than using the mission editor.
@@OzDeaDMeaT Yeah slower update cycles will make it much easier in the future - I have done a bit of scripting, but coding/development is part of my day job so I tend to try and have a bit of a break from it where I can. That being said, I plan on my next video being a setup guide for the Skynet IADS mod, and (if I can figure out how the fuck to work it) the MOOSE AI dispatcher integration for it Long term plan is that once Im in my house, some time in june I will start working a little more on DCS/youtube. I just tend to do the ME at the moment though, and I don't know what the demand would be like for videos of me actually flying
How can I control whether the convoy is moving or holding from the F10 menu?
Hi - There isnt currently a method of controlling units from the F10 map - if that is what you mean, however you can tell a convoy to start or stop using the radio menu following these steps. - With the convoy selected, go on the "triggered actions" tab (next to your waypoints tab) - Create a new triggered action and name it something obvious (for example "Convoy Halt") - On the drop down menus, select "hold" on the action - click the "stop condition" and tick the box next to "Flag is true" and input a number, in this example we are going to use 69 as the flag - Next, open your triggers menu from the left side of the editor screen. We will need a few triggers, so I am going to tell you which ones to make, one at a time. TRIGGER 1: - Create a new trigger, call it "RadioMenu_Halt" - In "Conditions" Create a new condition of "Time more than" and set it to 1 - In Actions set it to "Radio Item Add for Coalition" - On the Radio item that you create, set your target coalition as the one you will be playing as - Set the "Radio Item Add for Coalition" Name to "Convoy Halt" - Set the flag to 70 TRIGGER 2: - Create a new trigger, call it "Action_Halt" - In "Conditions" Create a new condition of "Flag is true" and set the flag value to 70 - In "Actions" create a new "AI Task Push" Action, and set it to the "Convoy Halt" action you created earlier - In "Actions" create a new "Radio Item remove" and set it to "Convoy Halt" - In "Actions" create a new "Radio Item Add for Coalition" - On the Radio item that you create, set your target coalition as the one you will be playing as - Set the "Radio Item Add for Coalition" Name to "Convoy Resume" and set the flag to 69 TRIGGER 3: - Create a new trigger, call it "RadioMenu_Resume" - In "Conditions" Create a new condition of "Flag is true" and set the flag value to 69 - In "Actions" create a new "Radio Item Add for Coalition" - On the Radio item that you create, set your target coalition as the one you will be playing as - Set the "Radio Item Add for Coalition" Name to "Convoy Halt" and set the flag to 70 - In "Actions" create a new "Radio Item remove" and set it to "Convoy Resume" That should be it - though I will be honest in saying I havent tested it as I have written all of that from memory - basically what the steps actually do is this: - Create a "hold" action for the units, and tell them that they can only stop "holding" when flag 69 is activated - Trigger 1 creates a radio menu item - Trigger 2 detects when the radio item on Trigger 1 is activated and uses that to stop the convoy - Trigger 2 deletes the "hold" radio item, as it has been used, and creates a new "resume" radio item using flag 69 - Trigger 3 detects when flag 70 is activated, deletes the "resume" radio item, makes a new "halt" one That should mean that when you load up the game, you can use the "misc" or "Extras" radio item tab to activate or deactivate the movement of the convoy. I thought the B552 was just announced in a teaser trailer, but a basic AII version jas been available somewhere in the editor for years? part of some scenery module or what, ddint think i seen it
The B52 has been in DCS since the FC3 days as an AI controlled aircraft - as far as I am aware the only change to it is that they recently released an updated model for it, however I dont think they plan on releasing a full module. Would be interesting though! I would love to be able to have a mission with all player controlled aircraft only :D

I there a way to set waypoints for the troops after disembarking? Also, I am trying to get a score for troops & cargo transported to a zone - should work, I've been following your tutorials closely but I cant get a score. I made a trigger displaying messages upon feel very, e.g. Thanks for the ride! So its recognized when the troops arrive at the zone but scores never materialize

@@yetanothergamingfail OK, I already made some progress. I had the whole thing created without tasks to pick up anything, just for single player. Now I created tasks, embark troops or cargo, and offload it into my zone. I let Ai fly it like you do. It works. I'll check if the points are allocated, too, but basically this isn't too important
@@falanglao01 So if you want to have points/flags etc tick up for every group moved, set up a zone at the delivery location and name it (in this example its "landing zone") Create a new trigger Name it Under "Conditions" do "Part of group in zone" set the group to your infantry being dropped off Set the zone to "Landing Zone" Under actions, do "add score" (or whatever points are, cant remember off the top of my head) Create a new trigger just like this for every group of infantry you move The reason why you do "part of group in zone" is because if one of your infantry dies at any point (DCS is a buggy mess sometimes) it will cause it to fail, so you only need part of the group instead of all of it To answer your other question, Infantry will halt when "embarking to transport" and after that they will continue onto their next waypoint, so just set the next waypoint after the pickup waypoint to be wherever you want them to go after that Hope this helps, and apologies for the late response!
Interesting options to use scoring in combination with spawning new units. Now, so far I never paid much intention to scores but recently I started practicing the Huey, including flying with sling loads. Somehow I cant get a score for dropping off intact cargo or troops inside a trigger zone. No idea whats wrong, its a very basic thing.
Just have 2 zones, big one for the trigger, small one for drop off location. Thanks for these tutorials, DCS mission editor advanced optiions have huge potential once you figure them out, I just learned a lot from this short video. Lots of cool stuff can be done with these triggers, like AA traps turning on their radar only when enemies reach the no escape zone etc.!

Man, I'm pretty tired of waiting for the SAR server to come back up.. Where can I get a step by step explanation on how to create a similar mission/map. I can do many things. But I cannot land on a spot, load troops by numbers, and drop them back off same spot.. Just doing it is fun.. I don't need to see soldiers moving.. Unless I drop in field. I've seen Github,, Nothing seems to be working right with it.
One can get motion sickness watching you throw the mouse around. Good content though.

So what does buying the carrier module give you?
The supercarrier module at this moment in time provides you with deck crew for takeoff, an LSO perspective for landing as well as more realistic ATC communications for takeoff/landings/carrier operations. There is an auto LSO who gives you guidance during landings. Soon there will also be a pre-flight situation room for use in briefings. There are plans to provide access to the hangar decks, as well as to have deck crew perform all their normal roles from servicing to rearming/refuelling and parking aircraft. At present, I personally recommend the Supercarrier module to anyone who regularly flies the hornet or tomcat. If you are unsure about how often you would use it, it might be better to hold off until a sale or until there are more features. I hope this helps!

So, how can you get an aircraft to use the tanker?
In the advanced way point options of the aircraft you want to hit the tanker with, add "refuelling" as its task/en route task/option/command Hope this helps!

Your easiest way is to place the template, edit the group as it is placed in the mission, then once you are happy, delete the old one and save the updated one back into the template screen. Sadly DCS does not yet have the capability to edit templates at the root. I hope this helps!

Hi, you have to change all these settings from the main menu, if you attempt to change while in a mission you will be locked out of all options. I hope this helps, please let me know if it doesnt work!
Well, at least you can show us that you know how to make a mission where a group stops/starts; and, that you know what having a flag value means, and what setting a flag value to 1=1 does -as opposed to the other flag options.
I have an issue in VR mode . The view is all the time in the middle of the cockpit when I move forward the cockpit go to forward and is the same when I move left or right side so I can’t move and zoom to the avionic in the cockpit . Maybe something is not in a correct position in the DCS setting for Vr or steam Vr . I have a reverb g2 .
In fact it was le calibrate environment this one must be in STATIC mode ….now it s ok 👌
When that happens to me, I had to go to the Mixed Reality Portal > Room boundary visuals > Set up room boundary > Set me up for seated and standing > Center. This fixes the issue for me all the time so far.
Nice to have little extra tips ' eg. flag use that nudge into other more complex areas. good sense of humor too.
This is a really good series, very informative. Only minor criticism I have is the audio leveling, your voice is quiet compared to the intro.

Where do you install the static airplanes that you can download? Pucara, 737, kc10 etc..
It depends entirely on the mod, it's always best to check the mod description, but they almost always go into your C:\usernamehere\savedgames\dcsworldopenbeta\mods\aircraft folder (that's the general path, it may be slightly different)
Well, in my case I place DCS in a D drive. When I look the menu on the open beta I don’t have the same structure route that is been suggested by the Mod designers. So I am very puzzled by where to install this things. Thank you very much for responding my question.
@@monaamelia hi, yes, I have my DCS installed on my F: drive personally, but you also have a separate saved games folder as I mentioned above!
Thank you so much for posting these guides. Fairly new to DCS, and still learning in solo and have got to stage where confident enough to mess with the editor to try creating missions myself. I've watched some decent guides for tips, but can honestly say learnt more new things and features in this video than probably all the others combined.
