it was such a big deal for a 1985 platform though, 4 built-in PCM channels that can play sampled sounds, this was in the days of Programmable Sound Generators (and in some cases, FM synthesizers) in computers and consoles.
On track #10: Prodigy - Jungleism. The pad sample is from Haddaway - Sing About Love, it's at the very end of the song. I'm making samples from CDs I have and instantly recognized it.
I remember trying to make music with the Commodore 64 but I never had any drums and I think you could only have like 3 note polyphony. Hard to sound so futuristic and retro at the same time, but I love it! Super cool, man. I think you just turned my morning coffee into MDMA.
a man the memory's lol love it i cant even remember how to use that program now i was great at it once in a galaxy far far away i had hair then , amiga weed and booze the years flew by .
Brings back memories of listening to music on my 128mhz laptop. Only mod files would play and how great it was to be able to download these on 56k while downloading a MP3 file took over night.
Last time I used an Amiga tracker was 20 years ago in 1993, actually check my channel for some old breaks I created using a DSS8+ back in 93, your tunes are creative and great, good job, nice... keep it up.
Nah not really but sinc gives the best audio quality imo, I will one day hook up my PC with Winuae and real Amiga 1200 to my mixer and compare. Ever since I connected my Amiga to an amplifier and large speakers back in 92/93 I couldn't stand the Amigas stereo separation. Made my own adjustable separation by connecting the Amiga into 2 mixer inputs and swapping the left/right on the second input and lowering the volume, worked a treat ;)
You got that right ;) I still have plenty of jungle to upload but thanks anyway, maybe down the track. Subbed your channel a while back, you have some skills buddy :)
Are you trying to emulate the amiga sound of these modules? If so then, and I'm just saying, the stereo separation should be 70-100% and the interpolation should be none or disabled.
He's not, he's trying to improve musically Vs original amiga stereo separation that he didn't like even back then he fed his amiga stereo into 2 stereo channels on a mixer, 2nd ch with swapped L/R and used mixer faders to adjust stereo separation to his likings. He wants THAT sound back in here
Same here. Full separation is annoying. Never bothered to try to fix it with my A1200 (and I too ran the sound through a stereo amp and big speaker from day 1, circa 92-93), but In Winuae, I use 20% or 30% separation to preserve some channel swapping stereo effect as fully merged, both channel become identical. Work nice.
ok now i see in your description why your Amiga mixes are sounding better than original Amiga, If i were aware then at 2000 /2001? I have wasted tons of hours for every track by manually postprocessing them..ok i still believe it was a good effort. The items you used surely were not available at 2001?

hey i got amiga 500 + i ordered teh octamed 4 disk but it wont run? is this a ram issue? how do i make octamed run? when i click the disk the cursor flashes different colors and then nothing happens...
Did you buy that Octamed version 4 from Ebay, the one with the black label? or was it the CU Amiga one (pink label) black label version does require 1MB of ram to run. Your Amiga might only have 512k onboard memory, you can open up the trap door on bottom of case and check to see if it has extra 512k. If there is a RAM expansion in there, it might not be inserted properly or it's faulty. Check Ram expansion for any corrosion on board and pins. Luckily 512k ram expansion is cheap to buy new if you don't have or need replacement. Another problem could be the floppy or floppy drive, floppy drive may need a clean.
They're actually not hard left or right for this video. Amiga's sound channels independently are mono pcm audio channels but they're connected to a stereo output (2 channels for left and 2 for right) which means normally they are hard panned left and right, however I've stereo joined with WinUAE but not completely as that would mean true mono through both sides, I wanted to keep some (30%) stereo separation. So a bassline from one audio channel will be 100% one side and 70% the other. Amiga sound with 100% stereo separation sounds terrible with headphones but full mono will lose some range, wanted a balance.
