I love the VZ58, my uncle gifted me one (import not an century build) but it came with "Bever barf furniture" it was hard finding surplus wood. I find it's a lighter, more handy and slightly more accurate rifle than the AK. It would be nice if a company like WBP made an AKM with one of the pre AK47 short stoke piston systems, that or get imports of Type 81s as they are made in Bangladesh and could possibly be imported, same with Vietnamese AKs I love the fact you can top off the mags with stripper clips, I find that with stripper clips some are smooth and some are just junk, but more likely to have trouble with polymer coated ammo, lacquer coated and brass feeds in much smoother. Alot of people don't like the VZ58 as the mags can be hard to get, not many aftermarket parts but more are available now, in the past it was nearly impossible to mount an optic but now you can. I enjoy using irons anyway. Comblock rifles with western mounts and optics just look strange most of the time.
