I got the game for Christmas from my dad who had seen the original Godzilla, King of the Monsters in a theater way back when it first came out. I played it more that any other NES game in my collection. Dad played it quite a bit too. Thank you for the review. I really enjoyed it.
I still enjoy the heck out of the original NES game. I have fond memories of my brother and me playing it together. We would just pass the controller back and forth. I would control Godzilla; he would control Mothra. Occasionally we would argue when we would be fighting a monster and then the timer ran out. So of course the person playing wants to go back in the fight so the monster doesn't regenerate its health. But for some reason either him or I would be like "nope...it's my turn to move."
This game's not perfect, but out of the retro Godzilla games, I have the most fondness for it. The only thing that could have made it better is if Titanosaurus made it in as a boss. My favourite Godzilla game of all time is the Wii version of Godzilla: Unleashed. Its also not perfect, the controls take some getting used to, but once that's done. It's excellent, and the roster is really what makes it so great (with Titanosaurus and even Varan making the cut.)

It definitly was the most-played game I had at the time. I still have it with my original NES!
I rented this multiple times as a kid. Really good for a licensed game of that time.
@@caucasoidape8838 yeah, I was surprised how good the character models turned out.

My brother and I enjoyed this as well! Its still one of the more impressive games graphic-wise for NES!

I purchased a Wii for that game alone!
