She changed as a person as she got older, and who you are is reflected in your music That's why I like the younger Amy as a person more than the current one
@@sharki9876You don't know and have never known Amy Lee or any other artist. That's a ridiculous thing to claim. "I prefer young abused Amy" 🤢. Amy went through deeply hard and traumatic times in her early years including sibling death, mental health, abuse. And all musicians and creators have a right to evolve and dislike their early child material, it's their material not yours. If you created, you would understand about not liking some things you made as a kid.
Saw someone mention this and realized I hadn't listened to it in YEARS because it isn't on streaming platforms. This used to be a fave of mine, still know all the words. God.
All who searched for the song will relate to it, because they looked for it as refuge. Their rock in the storm. They tell of their pain only hoping some one will hear them, some one will listen. Yet they walk a path with no sight of life nor or far, only existence, for it is not living when alone. Perhaps it is all my dream, a walking fantasy, but no, it is my nightmare in all truth. One day, perhaps they will find their true refuge, even if it's in the cold arms of death.
This song is just...perfect. There are no words to explain how much I love this song. It just means everything, and can mean anything in a way, but just fits and helps and is wonderful and basically I just really love this song. :)
I liked the part where she sings "waking up is knowing who you really are" and she holds out 'really' but not 'are' like I think she would normally do (in my opinion). It made me think of how I sing and run out of breath when I'm supposed to hold the note and it made me realize that she's a human being and not just an angel who can hold out notes forever (:
I love this song so much. Evanescence are an amazing band. So many of their songs (including this one) somehow explain how I'm feeling or how I was feeling at points of my life. And Amy Lee's voice is just mesmerising!
EliseAditi That's why they are still heavily loved today by all of us Ev heads. She sings about really things and situations, even though some of it might not have happened to her. She puts out real music that we can relate to in some way. :-)
I ran away from home once and my best friend called me and she asked me why I was crying. When I explained the situation to her she put on this song and told me to hear it......Thank you Anastasia-Sarah Mizrahe And Thank You Evanescence!!!
derp kitty over here, that's all uni students have after rent. For food and everything else. And everyone outside thinks NZ is such an amazing place. That's because they don't see it from the inside
Wow. That is me completely. I love her music, not just because it is awesome, but because it makes me feel a mixture of emotions. I am happy and sad but I feel empty and dreamlike at the same time.
This Song...... Its jst.... Oh.My.God. Its jst to good. This song... This song is just me, Its how I feel, I love it when she writes songs. She gets what everyone feels. Like a angel of music....
This song, along with many of her others', have been such a release to the world I live in. On multiple occasions, I have cut myself, overdosed, and just tried to kill or hurt myself in general. This has helped me get through many of my issues in life and opened up my eyes to a whole new perspective of things. I have and still am fighting severe depression mostly because of my lack of love and extensive loneliness. Thank you....
At 1.39 when she says “you really are” at last scream you can still hear her childish voice what a song she was a fallen angel in this world with her beatiful voice.
I love how the day I move I find this song on here and yet again I'm reminded of my love for Evanescence and Amy Lee in general, not only can she sing amazingly, but she's also gorgeous and I do believe when I get to Arkansas I will have to completely bash my Ipod nano with Evanescence songs.
Exodus, by the latin word "exodus, exodi", means someone's leaving, for several reasons. The exodus was also the final part of the ancient greek tragedy, the "final" part when all the characters went off the stage. This song relates to a state of mind that's fragile, confusion, where "lying in the dark feels safer than in the light", where you feel you don't, and you just can't belong to such a place and just want to go away, truly or fictionary speaking. =)
+Heidi Waffles for sure! it sounds different from some of her other songs I love this the lyrics, the piano, the strings this song is strait out amazing!!!!!

I would love to her her re-record this and have the proceeds go to charities of her choice like the home for little wanderers or something like that.. this is what I tell people about really good songs.. they just stand the test of time, and still find ways to be relevant so long after they were first recorded..
Aviation TV Yeah, although I would rather say it was while David Hodges and Ben Moody was still in the band. Especially while David was there, you can hear it in music from another band he've been in (Trading Yesterday)
Aviation TV Well... Amy did have heavy Christian influence (going to church and being in the churches choir) but when she started actually making music from 1996 and on she wanted to make it clear they weren't a Christian rock band. Amy said she didn't want them being tied down to Christian rock genre since their record label had mostly Christian bands at the time.
You couldn't possibly. EP is an extremely rare album. They only made 100 copies of it. They gave some of them to family and friends for support and then had a concert at a place called Vino's in Little Rock, Arkansas and sold the rest of the albums there to the people. I'm on a mission though to own all Evanescence albums, so I'm willing to search until the end of time for that album.
I used to hear this song when I was in 1st grade highschool now Im in senior year and its kinda funny I still feelling just as the song says but in other dimensions. I like it.
It’s disheartening how much Amy herself dislikes this song today, because it’s one of my favorites from her. It got me through a lot over the years.

This song is just so undescribable (so are Evanescence). Its as if she's in pain but as if she's happy. It's beautiful.

One of the best and quite underrated songs from Evanescence. Pretty hard to find as well if you don't already know what it's called.
" Waking up is knowing who you really are ".
So sad but meaningful. 💔
Dude, it doesn't matter how different her voice may sound in this song. All of her songs are just purely amazing, End of story. XP

This song's amazing, whoever dislikes this honestly has no taste in music.
This song got me through being an angsty, emo teenager. It's a shame what their newer music has become - not my thing at all.
At 1.39 when she says “you really are” at last scream you can still hear her childish voice what a song she was a fallen angel in this world with her beatiful voice.

So many people seek comfort in the shadows for so many reasons...
