    You need to hold down one of the buttons on your jumper box to make it go into override mode. If it doesn't sense any voltage it won't come on automatically. I have the same one.

    Great find, can't believe the pump worked. Who throws something like that out? Take the elbow off the nozzle and thread the hose straight to it. You can just coil the hose over the filter or fashion a hook to one of the picking eyes.

    Nice Jake. I bought a 110v ac to 12 dc converter for under $30 and use my 120v power station at the pump. Don’t have to mess with a long cord to the battery that way.

    Great find. You have to wonder why the previous owner tossed it. I was betting that the motor was defective, but that proved not to be the case.
    To hang the hose, you might clamp a hook to the long vertical pipe or install a wooden upright to the 4x4s at the base with a hook on it.
    You might also think about getting a deep-discharge battery and a small solar-panel trickle charger and mount it on a wooden platform over the flat part of the fuel tank. That way you wouldn't need to fiddle with connecting the motor to your tractor battery. An alternative would be to install a 12-Volt socket on the tractor and put a 12-Volt plug on the motor cable so that you can just plug the pump into the tractor without opening the hood.
    Finally, you might want to think about adding a water-absorbing stabilizer and some biocide to the fuel because otherwise water will gradually accumulate through condensation and biofouling will grow at the water-fuel interface near the bottom of the tank.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  Год назад

      Not sure why someone would throw it out but I’m glad they did! Thanks for the suggestions!

    Hello Dude Ranch, I accidentally deleted my first comment, but here is an addition, what I wish you had done is to run wire from your battery to just out side the grill of the tractor, with a trailer type 2 wire quick connector, and put the other side to the wire from the pump, that way you did not need the alligator clamps, , have a cleaner connection, never have to pop the lid of the tractor, and no clamps to break or crush, no sparks near the battery, and have an extension cord to hook up the led work light you have not got yet.

    • @DudeRanchDIY

    I have watched a lot of your videos and all are great !! I also use the IBC totes and have learned ( I'm a tad bit older ) a trick for removing them from the cage . Use a piece of rebar hooked to a strap and take the center cap off after pulling the top braces off . Stick the rebar into the tank turn sideways and hook the strap piece to your blades and pull strait up to remove the tank . I use to pull and fight the tanks but getting old makes you do things the easy way . I use to cut up the totes but now I just flatten them with my skid steer . Have a spectacular day !!

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  Год назад

      Thanks for watching! I just flip the tote over and pull the bladder out buy the two little plastic molded loops. Never had any issues, just have to make sure the valve on the bottom is closed or the handle can get caught up.

    Nice find. You should be using off road diesel for the tractor. Cost less because you aren't paying the road tax already included in the price of diesel. The red dye in the off road is so that the dept of transportation can tell if you are using off road fuel on the highway. A hefty fine if you get caught running off road fuel on the hwy.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  Год назад

      Off road diesel isn’t easily available in my area for such small amounts nor would I save much money. I’ve also been told by friends with lots of equipment that it is nowhere near the same quality as diesel #2 and to steer clear for the sake of the fuel system.

    Jake, get a good HD 25' 10/2 all weather extension cord, cut the ends off it and use that as the power and ground. The fitting coming out of the pump needs the black nut to it to hold the wire in place, it crimps down the wire shielding on the wire so you don't pull the cord out of the pump. With this cord you will be able to take the tank on some jobs and be able to hook it to your trucks battery and still fill your tractor.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  Год назад

      No need to take it on jobs as I’m usually only there for a day or two. I might use Anderson connectors to the tractor to make it easier to hook up

    if you want put Anderson connectors on the pump and tractor - so you can just plug it into tractor when filling. just leave the pig tail on tractor so you can get to it without opening hood etc. I did that with my skid loader using an old extension cord - cause im to lazy to use clamps on battery. hahah
