- We all love a good blow dry at a salon. Why does hair look so much better when treated at a salon compared to when washed at home?
Here are a few reasons:
1 . Time taken to lather shampoo
Completely drenching the scalp before applying shampoo is important for the ingredients in the shampoo to work properly. Surfactants dissolve oil and grime and help in cleaning scalp. If they are left on the scalp for 2-3 minutes, they work better.
2. Applying conditioner and hair mask which gives shine & smoothness to hair
Conditioner and hair mask form a layer on the hair shaft. Due to this coating on the cuticle, hair looks more smooth and shiny. Conditioner also makes hair more manageable.
3. Last rinse with cool water which reduces fraying of cuticles.
Rinsing with cool water helps in sealing the cuticles. This adds shine to the hair. Always wash hair with room temperature or Luke warm water. Hot water wash can make hair more dry and frizzy.
4. Blow drying of hair
This helps in adding hair volume, bounce & smoothening frizzy hair. Though a professional blow drying takes time to master, you can do a gentle blow dry at home. When using at home, blow dryer should be kept at 6 inches distance & move from up to downward direction. Don’t move the dryer from down to up as this may make hair more frizzy.

Blow dryer can be used with proper care...It should be away from hair and setting should be of less hot like warm or even less depending on the brand and before everything you have to spray heat resistant spray on to hair and then can blow dry...

As a hairstylist of almost a decade, I can tell you, that you're not meant to apply strong hair shampoo on your hair.
I have noticed hair lines of so many people, and I observed that people who were using harsh shampoos generally had weak hair line.
So I suggest only to use gentle shampoo cleanser only. I personally use and recommend to apply litttleextra cocconioon shampoo only.
Also, do warm oil massage twice a week as it improves circulation and promotes hair growth.

@@bhartisuvarna6059 actually low porosity hair have closed cuticles and finishing off with cold water after conditioner isn't really beneficial because the conditioner isn't penetrating the strands but sitting on top of it
