    Kabir, can you please tell us what equipment you are using?

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  Год назад +1

      Of course! Assuming you mean for cameras, etc. It is always changing but this one was shot with 1DX2 underwater with mostly the wacp +24-70 and the 16-35 f4, DJI mavic air2S in the sky and canon c70 for topside shots. I’m actually selling my nauticam housing for the 1DX2 (still for sale for $2000usd 🙃) and upgrading to take my c70 underwater, also considering the r5c which ticks a lot of my boxes (one touch white balance!). I also want the mavic 3 classic now that they finally released a cheaper version with the same 4/3 sensor. The big issue with the air 2S is that you can’t control aperture which makes picking which ND to use a bigger deal than it needs to be

    Talking about diving and in comparation wich one is better for you?. Galapagos, Malpelo or Cocos Island?

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  Год назад +1

      this is a very hard question to answer... it's like picking a favorite child. I've been to all of them at least 3 times and I still can't give a straight answer. I should make a video to discuss this since I think it deserves some more content / nuance. thanks for the idea!

    Thank you for the video! Is July a good time to dive in Malpelo? (sharks, currents, etc.)

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  Год назад +1

      Thank you for watching 🙏🏽 I think it’s always a good time to dive in Malpelo but July will be warmer, generally better viz, but not the high season for huge schools of hammer heads. It does still happen but I think density is higher in winter (with higher chances for bad viz). Strong / unpredictable currents always a possibility for Malpelo. Cheers!

    Hi Kabir great and amazing video, I am interested to visit Malpelo but I do not have experience with currents in fact I am not fan of it, what is your recommendation? Avoid it or how can be prepare for this trip? I like the challenge’s but i am worry about it 😅

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  Год назад

      Thank you! 🙏🏽 If you are not very experienced with currents or are generally uncomfortable in them, I definitely would not go to Malpelo (yet). While dives can be ‘easy’ with a manageable / useful current, they can also be very strong and unpredictable (eg change in the middle of a dive or have different directional currents at different depths). The remoteness of the destination amplifies the risk. Malpelo is known for its wild currents so I would definitely recommend getting super comfortable with open ocean drifts in another destination first. Then go to Malpelo 🤙🏽

    Thank you for the video! Do you prefer Malpelo, the Galapagos, Cocos or Socorro?

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you for watching it! 🙏🏽 but you ask an impossible question, I could never pick or rank these spots. It really depends on the particular trip (season and luck). I’ve had some of my best memories in each of them. You can’t go wrong 🤙🏽

    • @Sylvie_in_the_Sea
      @Sylvie_in_the_Sea 11 месяцев назад

      If you have good luck it completely changes your ranking. But I would choose the Galapagos over Cocos and Socorro. Enjoy your dives!

    I just recently signed up to ship out on the Ferox in March. Any particular recommendations on wetsuit thickness (3, 5, 7mm), if a hood is recommended, and if I should bring fins designed more to address currents?

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  Год назад

      In March the water will be colder so I would definitely go with a warm 7mm. Hood probably not a bad idea. I don’t know about fins designed for currents… the most important thing with currents in Malpelo is to have prior experience in strong / unpredictable currents, be very comfortable deploying SMB at depth, etc. more powerful fins could help but it’s not really about the gear in my opinion

    Hi,
    can you tell me what is with the German Leader Arvid Martinkat and his Katamaran Inula?

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  Год назад

      Arvid ran a great intimate operation but unfortunately I think he no longer operates in Malpelo :( the only catamaran in Malpelo now is the Silky (marine park patrol)

    You've dove here multiple times? Ferox is expensive, did you get discounts?

    • @DiveHard
      @DiveHard  7 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve been very fortunate to visit Malpelo several times over the years, on the multiple times on the Yemaya (no longer) and on the Ferox. It is definitely expensive, but considering the costs of going all the way out there (fuel, crew, equipment, etc.) it’s not unfair. Especially for the dive experience you get on the Ferox, and also compared to other similar eastern pacific destinations (cocos, Galapagos, etc.)

    One prayer, though. 😇
    Please don't put subs on the RIB in slow motion. It is an unbearable cliché even when BtMs use it.
