He speaks about the famous Guruvayoor temple in Kerala. It is a major Vaishnava shrine in India, as everyone knows. It is situated in Thrissur district in the central part of the state, around 28 km from the district headquarters (Thrissur town), towards the north-west. The deity there, called Guruvayoorappan (meaning: The Lord of Guruvayoor), is a form of Lord Vishnu, holding shankha, chakra, gada and padma on his four hands, and popular in Kerala & Tamil Nadu. It is the fourth largest temple in the whole India in the terms of number of devotees (after Tirupati, Badrinath and Puri - incidentally all the four are Vaishnava shrines), the second in South India, and the first in Kerala.
The story he tells is taken from 'Gurupavanapura Mahatmyam' from 'Narada Puranam'. Long years ago, during the early stages of creation, Lord Brahma (the creator) was indulged in the creation of life on Earth, but he forgot that it was actually Lord Vishnu himself who was helping him, and thus could not succeed in his mission. At that time, Lord Vishnu appeared before him. Lord Vishnu harshly criticized Lord Brahma, saying that he was not meditating upon him (Vishnu), who gave birth to him. Lord Brahma then told Lord Vishnu that he would like to see his Lord always and to meditate upon him, so that both he and his creations can have 'mukti' without any connection with 'karma'. Hearing this, Lord Vishnu made an idol of himself and presented it to his friend, telling that the idol would help him in creation. With this, Lord Brahma continued creation, and succeeded in his mission. For many years, he worshipped Lord Vishnu's idol with deep obeisance. After that, he gave the idol to a devout saint named Sutapas and his wife Prashni, who were worshipping Lord Vishnu for getting a son like him. They worshipped the idol with deep obeisance like the Creator himself did, and no later, the Lord appeared before him. When he heard that Sutapas and Prashni wanted a child like him, he told them that he would himself be born as their son in three births (I later added a fourth birth).
With this, in Satya Yuga, the Lord was born as Prashnigarbha (literally: The one born in Prashni's womb, thus Prashni's son), the son of Sutapas and Prashni (This avatar is relatively unpopular, and is not a part of the Dashavatar ). In that avatar, the Lord compiled the Shastras and popularised them. In the next birth, Sutapas and Prashni were reborn as Kashyapa and Aditi respectively, and then the Lord was born to them as Vamana, the fifth of his ten popular avatars. At this point, he slightly deviates from the topic, and says about Mahabali, the mighty asura king, and grandson of Prahlada, one of the greatest Vaishnavas ever. In the third birth in Dwapara Yuga, they were reborn as Vasudeva and Devaki respectively, and the Lord then got born as Krishna, his most popular avatar (I had added Lord Rama's story before this story, thus making the number of births as four). In all the three births, they had the fortune to worship this idol. But, in the third birth, it was first owned by sage Dhaumya, the family Guru of Vasudeva, and it was he who gave the idol to his disciple. When Lord Krishna grew big, Vasudeva and Devaki gave the idol they worshipped to him, and with it, he went to Dwaraka, his new home. Despite being an avatar (or Lord Narayana) himself, Lord Krishna worshipped the idol with deep obeisance, along with his chief wives Rukmini and Satyabhama.
Finally, Dwapara Yuga came to an end, and it was time for Lord Krishna to return. Kali Yuga, the evil period, was to start. Before ascending to Vaikuntha in his divine form, Lord Krishna called Uddhava and told him that Dwaraka would be destroyed a week later in a huge flood, and the only survivor of that flood will be the divine idol of Lord Narayana which he himself worshipped. He also told that the idol should be given to Brihaspati, the divine Guru, and also told Uddhava to go to Badrikashram for spending his last days. As the Lord himself prophesied, Dwaraka got stuck by a massive flood a week later. Uddhava had left to Badrikashram by that time, and before leaving, he told this to Brihaspati. By the time Brihaspati reached Dwaraka, it had been fully wept out by the sea, and only the peak of a tall mountain was above the water. But suddenly, he saw the divine idol of Lord Vishnu floating on the saltwater without any damage. Brihaspati asked Varuna, the sea god, to hand over the idol, but he was helpless. Then, he called Vayu, the wind god, to hand over. Varuna and Vayu worked together to reach the idol towards the shore, by increasing the speed of waves. After the idol was taken by Brihaspati, Varuna told him that wherever the idol is installed, he would be residing nearby it (That means, the temple would be near a seashore).
Then another confusion came: Where the idol should be installed? Suddenly, a divine message told them that the idol should be installed in Bhargava kshetra (meaning the land of Parashurama alias Bhargava, the descendant of Bhrigu, or the present-day Kerala). After hearing that, Brihaspati and Vayu took the idol and went south towards the Bhargava kshetra for finding a special spot there. There, they found a large and beautiful lake, called 'Narayana Saras' or 'Rudra Saras' close to the western sea, and also saw Lord Shiva and mother Parvathi nearby. Brihaspati and Vayu went down, and bowed before them. Lord Shiva told them that he was waiting for them for a long period, and the holiest spot to install the idol was none other than the place they were standing. He also told them that it was there where the 10 saints called 'Prachetas' worshipped Lord Vishnu, and the place where he gave them mantra upadesham. And then, Lord Shiva told them that since the idol is going to be installed by Guru and Vayu, the place will be famous as 'Guruvayoor', and the deity of Lord Vishnu will be famous as 'Guruvayoorappan'.
Hearing this, Brihaspati called Vishwakarma, the divine architect. Vishwakarma made a temple in accordance to Vastu rules, and the divine Guru installed the idol there. Lord Shiva performed the first pooja. Devas like Indra showered flowers on the idol, and sage Narada sang divine songs. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvathi, who were there in the holy event, later appeared in a shrine near to it, on the western bank of the lake. That temple came to be known as 'Mammiyoor Temple', which is still there a kilometre away from Guruvayoor temple, at the north-western side.

Human beings got guruvayurappan temple due to the leadership and greatness of shiva .so shiva temple is called mahima(greatness )+ur (place) = mammiyoor

    Sir, I have a request, I asked several ppl but nobody responded.
    one more doubt...
