  • What the Amish Can Teach You About Magic
When I think of the Amish, I think of three things.
No electricity, barn raising, and beautiful quilts.
    Magicians can learn from that.
First, instead of focusing on what they don’t have the Amish embrace the challenge. Magicians might feel that they need more props, more skills, or whatever. But the challenges you face are not as big as the challenge of living in the twenty-first century without electricity.
Second, barn raising. The Amish know that working together helps everyone accomplish more. Those magicians who work well with fellow performers without being petty or jealous always do better.
Finally, instead of focusing on what they don’t have, the Amish focus on what they can do better than anyone else. They sell handcrafted things like quilts and furniture.
They can charge a premium because people will pay for quality.
In your magic find what you do well and then lean into it and do it well and people will pay top dollar.
Family and kid show performers struggle to book enough gigs. I teach you how to keep gigs coming easily, so you can rely on your income and have fun earning it.
