There is The Round Barn here in Central Iowa that the owner restored. He had to bring in an Amish team to re-roof and restore because they were the only ones who had the knowledge and same building skills the barn was built with..... without CAD!
Amish communities here in WI are very different than Amish I have been around in other areas. Most around here either work for themselves or work for other Amish businesses. I support the Amish as much as possible because even though I am not Amish, I believe in what they are about and why they do what they do. Seems around here that people either love the Amish or hate them. Seems the haters are the city transplants into our rural community or people that have no clue why the Amish do what they do. Good chance the haters don't know the God that guides their beliefs.
I have Amish friends, and have driven for the Amish. I interact with the Amish as much as I do with the non-Amish. But the sad part about the Amish is that they are guided more by tradition then by God. They are taught that it is not good to read the Bible on their own. Too much Bible reading will drive them away from the Amish church. Yes, they do believe in God, but they know very little about His teachings. The sad part is that those who do start reading the Bible and discover what it says about Salvation, and subsequently get saved, they are pretty much forced to leave the Amish church and eventually the community. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of good in the Amish. But just like any other cross section of society, there is some not so good as well.
The Amish know to live life slowly and be mindful of the day. You can't reap the week after you sow, you get to do a lot of other jobs instead. Keeps life interesting.
Thank you ✅ literally just got a plot of 26 acres but I’m still driving 45 min to work. Working the land a little bit is the plan so Hopefully not working for the man much longer 🤙🏼
That's a lot of ground to cover besides a f/t job. I hope you have some productive ideas lined up. I have a biggish garden that I have trouble keeping up with. Genuinely wishing you all the best for a contented life.
On your point about, worry. My father once said to me...Worrying never added one second to one's life, so why bother? So true!! I'm now a new subscriber to your channel. The first video l watched was the 30 day carnivore diet. I"m seriously considering giving it a try, as l have numerous health issues that l'd rather be without. (None serious) I feel positive that l will have plenty to gain, once l start.
One BIG thing you forgot to mention...the Amish are very united, they help each other on everything when there's a need, that is why they aren't afraid as much as others. Yes, they trust God and have strong faith, but in reality, having support from others around you to help you succeed is a big deal and huge leg up for each of them. They have their act together, that is why they are successful.
Excellent video young man. I have great respect for the Amish. The points you bring out are lessons that if the common man would get ahold of life would be a whole lot better in the world today.
Great video. I just found your channel from podcast going through the videos. We purchased our farm and are getting ready to move. I do eBay as a side and we have looked at Airbnb and a kennel as income ideas before I found you. Crazy. Thanks
If the Amish don't get along with their Deacon/Minister they move to a different location & start a new settlement, sometimes in a different State where farm land us CHEAP!
Very good thanks for the wisdom and yeah I agree the more we put our faith in God through Jesus Christ, our mediator and great high priest, the less we will worry.
This is really really interesting because when I was for something happened in my family and we were a big Amish family and it was weird because one side of my dad's family was Mennonite and something happened in the family all these years ago I'm 60 now and prove my life would so different I didn't even I wasn't allowed to remember anything or do anything like we did when I was a young youngboy, my grandfather changed and started bootlegging whiskey and then after I guess so many years he started selling it legally and we never liked it I remember I've got eight brothers and sisters and we never liked it we wanted to go back to our old lives that somehow got taken away from us and we didn't remember how and to this day I don't remember and it makes me so sad because those are my Tendencies those are my memories those are my love when you're sitting here talking about your friends it's like my family that I lost it's weird anyways just story really touches me and I just thought I'd let you know that, I'm 60 years old as I said I'm by myself and I'm sad I don't want to be by myself I want a family but I I don't have one I don't have any kids or anybody I don't even remember how old I was when last time I seen my cousins and Mennonites they lived in Chicago and Wisconsin while the rest of us we lived on the other side of Ohio over and Pennsylvania so we were quite a ways apart after everything happened I just wish I could remember

@@HoneyHollowHomesteadAny shunning is toxic, and bad for the soul. It's still much better to be shunned and truly get to know God.

Great video. I'm in Europe so have no experience of the Amish (other than TV descriptions!). These are really good lessons. Thanks for this.
Man! Great stuff. I feel much the way they do because of my faith but truly want to jump into my own businesses. Thank you much!!!

Thank you I try to teach these things to my children too
Well done video with lots of good wisdom!! Small Amish family run businesses normally much better service than the large chain stores do.
I have met some of our local Amish in Northern Neck - great folks. They started a cheese making business and the cheese is crazy good.
Very instructive!! Thanks 👍
This was a FANTASTIC vid!! Thank you, these are logical and down to earth. Seems like we could all learn HOW TO learn a little better.
Thank you. These videos take a ton of effort. Comments like this inspire us to do more

Sure, we go to St John's Lutheran in Montello.
Was this 11 months ago? You don’t look heavy? I thought you were on carnivore about 100 plus days?
He started by doing keto, then carnivore 🙂
