3 times in 2 different countries I've been told that I "walk like a Nigerian". I asked what they meant, and one of them told me "you guys walk like you own the road" 😂🤣😂
Had a Ibo student as a roommate at SUNY Delhi, this guy Godfrey Uzochukwu was amazing, he made all A’s in every subject . Big Respect to Nigerians 😎🤓🇯🇲👍🏿💯
My younger daughter attended a daycare run by a Nigerian lady. She was AWESOME!!! She had a great sense of humor and was a very no nonsense person. I always liked her. She was the only Nigerian I had ever met and left me with a great impression of the folks from that nation.
Other Africans tend to see it as arrogance but one thing is that we believe in the power of the tongue. We speak greatness to our selves before we’re even great. The Yorubas especially will say the opposite of what’s really happening when it’s negative and from context you will understand. Like if you were really sick, you might say my enemies were really tired last week that’s why I didn’t visit you etc. 😂
As a South African, I think at the core of the "beef" between SAns and Naijas is really the difference in personalities. We are on different ends of the spectrum so we easily misunderstand and misinterpret each other. SAns are big on humility: be humble and modest, don't brag, don't walk into a room like you own it. This shows in our fashion and in our way of life- we like simple and understated elegance. While Nigerians are all about being loud and ostentatious. Big assertive personalites that cement themselves in spaces. Glitz and glitter, overstated glam. If we were birds, SAns would be the swans and Nigerians would be the flashy peacocks- both beautiful but very very different.
Trevor is not wrong. My husband is Nigerian, and boy he is ultra direct. So direct that sometimes I am embarrassed 😳 😂. And I' from NYC and people call us direct but boy Nigerians take it.
For real, never met a Nigerian who is not confident!! They control their space and they act like it!!👊🏼😂 Love it!! Asé
🤣😂🤣Burna, "we don't lie unless we want to scam you"
Nigerians are like “modesty for what? I’ll be quiet when I am dead!” 😂🤞❤

This is why the only thing we Nigerians fear, are other Nigerians.
I'm a Nigerian, and that's 100% true.
Nigerians are also sooo poetic and dramatic.
Every Nigerian man I ever met totally believes his Mothers praise😎
It sounds like Nigerians might be the New Yorkers of Africa. Brash, confidant, loud but cool af
