  • Lacan distinguishes the drive from desire as the former is the particular representation of desire towards an object. On the other hand, desire is viewed to be the singular Thing which the drives represent but only partially.

Thank you for this explanation! I have a question, do you have any primary sources on this difference between drive and desire? I would like to read up on that by reading it in Lacan's own words, even if it's more complicated

Great work! I really appreciate how you explained Freud before leaping into Lacan, which provides very important context. You also made clear how the pleasure and death drives become "partial" for Lacan, which I really appreciate and think can be missed. Well done!

I'm enthralled with your psychoanalytic videos - you're delightfully familiar with the ideas and explain it in an easily digestible way. Zizek and Lacan can be very enigmatic, for sure! I've been trying to understand Lacan for about 5 months now; I'm starting to get a decent grip on his concepts. Videos like yours help to tie stray facets of their work into a bigger, more cohesive picture. Thanks again!

Do you use hair conditioner.... one wash through or two? Your hair looks very soft.

No I don’t. Just shampoo, conditioner makes my hair really stringy

This was a phenomenal explanation. I'm watching your videos while reading How to Read Lacan by Žižek.
Will you be keen for a podcast interview, mate? I'm a neophyte, and I got heaps of questions, and you're a clear communicator.
