The most f*cked up thing abt this eps is that playground...the children we see there are the same transfigured humans we see Mahito set loose on Yuji after killing Junpei....
I could be wrong but I don't think Gojo has this humanity everyone thinks he does. He hasn't shown to care at care for none sorcerers he appears as he wants to protect young sorcerers like Itadori, Megumi, Yuta, Maki from higher ups but doesn't appear like he cares to much about non sorcerers. It appears more to me that he is keeping the memory of his friend alive with him by protecting the weak. As long as he keeps the ideals Geto believed in before his realization of the blight sorcerers face then the old Geto still lives with him but honestly it doesn't look phased by randoms dying rather frustrated that they believed a lame trick like that would corner him. Most of the Adult in JJK aren't altruistic. In S1 we see Mei Mei does it for the money, Nanami left because he thought sacrificing himself was crap, Gojo threatens to eliminate higher ups because he is protecting the student Itadori from them because they believe Sukuna will be a danger and since I know there up to episode 17 I can say the higher ups were right about that
