Abbey of Kings should give you the ability to build ‘churches’ that provide the healing buff.
Abbey of Kings becomes more and more useless the larger the map is, and being your first drop, you can’t really place it forward either.

Cheers mate. I play a few civs, English are probably my strongest, but they’re so bland. Need a few cool civ specific options to make them feel unique.
I try to make the Abbey work, but the only place I have any success is dropping it on the SS on king of the hill with mass early MAA and (trying to) force the fight to happen there with SS timer.
@@samblack5313 building forward bases is a gimmick that only new players do. If the player turtles then his counter attack will steamroll over your forward buildings and then you have no production line. You're essentially going unnecessarily all in and I encourage you to play the game in a more wholesome approach instead of all in or nothing
@@chrisnewtownnsw I will point you to all of the maps where pros build a keep and military production just outside the enemy walls. You mean going forward early, which is fine for an all in attack if you want to win early. Which is perfect for KotH maps, because a victory timer is forced and not theoretical.

My pitch for the Abbey of Kings: give it the additional function of a monastery, so that you can produce monks right away when hitting castle age and store relics in it. This would give it a actual boost for fast castle and you could be quicker on the relics.
Coinnu with map control and a lot of resources floating was a bit painful to watch, but always a joy to see Beasty comeback.
6:30 the vil that built the tower halfway was killed by the 5 vil pull of beasty at 5:20

As soon as I saw the 3rd tc I knew beastie was like "I'll survive this push and I'll out eco him in the long run" and I heard him saying "build berkshire if you're ahead and you just need to hold to win" It just feels good to have an idea of what a player is thinking while making weird decisions like these.
I think the combination of not having enough production to keep up the pressure and prevent Beasty from gaining momentum and not having enough towers with emplacements near his villagers lost coinnu the game. I feel like as mongol if you sense the game stretching too long and you are on the front foot you should instinctually spam towers near your resources and turn them into springald and canon towers immediately.
Not sure if coinnu deleted those war junks, which take 6*4=24 pop space. Also it's a pity that he didn't use water trade to maximize his advantage.
Really impressed by Beasty's judgement while dropping the 3rd tc, keep up with the eco and survived until age 4. Btw english farms with enclosure are just op. They give so many resources that only the gold income from 6 farmers is equivalent of 1 relic. Camping in your base and have all 100 villigers farming probably gives more gold than ur opponant going out mining XD
Pros never use water trade and its doubly frustrating with a civ like Mongols who could use it to build field mangonels and springs

Coinnu was getting units back into beastys base the whole game. The Berkshire was just well placed defending mines and a sacred site

In AoE4 he‘s just one of many good players. In AoE2 he‘s by far the best. So he rather plays AoE2 as he‘s probably also earning more money that way…
I think beasties early mistake here was going kings palace instead of the white tower. White tower with steeled arrow equals no meaningful gigachad harassment
He wasn't being harassed that much at that point and nobody builds the white tower instead of the kings palace unless they're in serious trouble. Beasties early mistake was not going into farms early on.
@@billypilgrim1 the point of the white tower is to take the steam out of an opponent who is more early aggression orientated whilst at the same time allowing you to farm under it to allow your turtle to blossom against their rush. kings palace puts you more into the boom spectrum and making boom choices is not ideal against someone making rush choices
