If you end up doing this again, try just making a bunch of pebblet spears and hucking them (save 1 to parry) even in whoa mode you can kill her pretty fast especially with eyepatch.
Yeah will do. Hucking stuff was never really on my radar but thrown spears and clubs too actually do crazy damage. Wanna do woah too so this might be the strat. Make as many as I can grabbing ingredients on the way to the jump up and just pick them up again mid fight
It can be a little janky (can’t spam huck or you’ll get stuck in an animation until you let it go naturally, spears can disappear / go inside her body), and the physics of a spear being on the ground can sometimes troll you depending what happens. Trying to kill her in Whoa! with a red ant club is doable but super slow, pinchwhacker doesn’t last the entire fight either unless you swap to a different weapon to parry / use a shield. You can also get her to jump up on the leaf on the initial jump and sometimes when she drops down she can take a massive amount of damage (lowest I’ve seen was 25%). Very impressive. Kind of surprised you didn't weave in activating parry master for more stamina to beat her up with faster given it was level 2 by the time you were done with her.
Thanks! I would but using the club like in this run, parry master messes with me more than it helps. Often when I was out of stamina and waiting for it to regen, I'd swing when I get that small bit back from parry master which would reset the wait for the whole bar to regen. Did it way faster already with Seethrew's spear strat anyway! ruclips.net/video/g-6IPOqiqzM/видео.html
I have been trying on Woah, sum of best is abt 16m. essentially the same run except you gotta start by makin a workbench and killing the 2 infected gnats left of the rake in the haze, grab an ant egg and go back to ur crafting table by the science station, scan the egg, make a bomb, go get the pinch wacker and rotten berry charm, get the rotten ant club and same thing, you pinch wacker durability wont last the whole fight, itll break at about half health on the boss, switch to the club and if u get a few rot procs from the charm itll go faster so its just rng for time saving. Big thing is making sure ur food and water is full before u start the fight and grab the 2 candybars in the first science station JUST IN CASE cause with those u can survive 1 hit haha its a long fight
Damn, only 5 minutes slower for woah would be sick! Sounds like a good strat. Got some ideas for the fight to max dps, let me know what you think: Grab rotten larva blade too and attack with that until berry charm procs. Attack with pinch whacker. Wow. After getting owned long enough without landing anything the widow really seemed to get confused and give up. Like when people panic/choke in the final circle of a battle royale game.
You might consider using the Black Onx Beatle to shave off some time. I use him all the time to beat this black widow. They're fairly easy to bait into fighting each other.
Great run! I suppose it's time for me to step back into speedrunning as well. Do you think the fight would've been faster if you enabled Parry Master when you got it? I feel like you can't go wrong with free stamina
Eyyy what's up Seagull. Yes get on it! Maybe but I tried it a bit and it honestly just messed with me more than it helped, although that might have just been tier 1. Stopped using it in regular play too though where I had it maxed so I think I just don't like it anymore
@@HolyCodzta to be fair, it would make it harder to abuse the empty stamina regen, so there's no guarantee it would help even if it didn't mess you up. Guess I'll have to give it a test
would it be faster to use the huck and wide interaction method to kill this or is that too risky? if so maybe quickly making 2 spikey sprigs might be enough to huck and parry whenever needed
Yeah someone beat my time hucking spears so I'm gonna test spears vs sprigs, wide interaction etc. 2 would be optimal but also risky but if wide interact is consistent enough that I always have one in hand then maybe I'll run that. It would only be a few extra seconds to grab the needles for a third or fourth sprig though so we'll see
Me and my two other friends did this speedrun, glitchless then a glitch run. We got 24:48 on the glitchless and 9:08 glitch because we did a glitch that level up your weapons infinite amount and foes insane damage using the smithing stations
Oh nice. Reckon you could show me that glitch? I won't use it in a run so the devs can't see if you don't want it getting patched, just curious on how you do it and wanna try it!
Initially the adrenaline is fine, I have 15 attempts logged on this run so parrying the widow from the start to near the end of the fight isn't an issue. When you get close to killing her and you're on good pace though... that can definitely cause some misclicks!
I think it was recently discovered that the Black Widow was 50% resistant to Clubs despite the Peep.R not saying so. Do you think this may influence future runs or is the Ant Club still likely gonna be the best weapon to use?
Yeah I saw all the numbers got datamined. Gonna look at that and test to see what's better when I come back to this run for sure. I'm not sure if its raw dps is better but the rotten larva blade might be better simply because I'll get less combos interrupted. I doubt either of them will have enough durability for whoa so that'll probably be pinch whacker.
It cancels the full regen of my stamina after exhausting it though which throws me off so is actually slower for me. Just gotta practice the timing for the parries and it's not too bad yeah
Haven't tested it but you need a bratburst to get pinch whacker so I'm not sure if it'd be faster on mild. Someone else commented about whoa difficulty where pinch whacker is basically required so the time getting fungal growth and ant egg would be worth it.
I’m gonna try beating this. I am REALLY consistent at parrying attacks from spiders. I’m on Xbox tho. So don’t know how I will record it. Any ideas on how to record my run to put it on RUclips?
I've been on PC for over a year now but I think on Xbox you have a few recording options. The one you want should be something like "Start recording now". If you're on a One or One S you'll have to record in 720p (which you change in system settings I think) to record longer than 10 minutes, so unless you can get it under 10 minutes you'll have to do that. Then just upload to OneDrive, download from OneDrive on a PC or your phone and upload to RUclips from there. I used to use an app called YouCut on android to trim videos down and/or put a few clips together.
i got a question. how did you stop the black widow poison . Black widow auto poison you on the 3rd of 4th hit she does no matter if you perfect block it . since the black widow does two types of poison
@@HolyCodzta on grounded ive tried, the full release is my first time playing and ive got it down a bit but i just need to practice more on different bug types

@@HolyCodzta Thanks for the info and unfortunately the game isn't available on Playstation only Xbox and PC and the computer I do have is not good enough to run this
Basically yeah! I was able to occasionally parry wolves but would die to them more often than not so one day said screw it and just sat and practiced parrying one for like half an hour without attacking back. Obviously died a lot but eventually was at like 80-90% parry rate, now it's like 99% for wolves. Black widow was actually disappointing because its attacks are just the orb's and wolf's sped up a bit, made it easier to speedrun it though I guess
@@HolyCodzta That's exactly what I did to git gud. (Also do you think Black Widows are easier than Infected Wolf Spiders? I do because atleast Black Widows don't have an impossible to dodge explosion that 1 shots you.)
@@meribarecentes6255 With sleek gas mask and fungus trinket infected wolves are easier for sure, especially with roasts or beefy smoothies for heals. With only the mask I would still save before fighting one and just hope it didn't blow me up haha
All bosses on whoa would be nails but very satisfying. But I think only when I've beaten them all at least once should I start thinking about that haha
Why does it stop attacking at the end? That is, was it bugged or is it its nature in the game? Perhaps in his cave, when she lowers a lot of life, tries to flee.
I did not, no. getting it would add about a minute but with great rng it might save time overall. Something to try in future for sure if this run gets competitive!
I was going to suggest grabbing coup (tricky with no torch), and also wondered if it would be possible to equip parry master during the fight or even parry something on the way to ensure you already have level 1. Either way a very impressive run. I just know I'd be stuck doing the jumping between blades of grass for longer than the length of the widow fight!
@@StephenBain It's actually alright in the dark, well for me it is with my gamma at 47. The water is a touch lighter than the tunnel walls so just follow the light haha. Equipping parry master during the fight isn't an issue and would be faster as I'd have to go off route to find a wolf, or maybe the gang of larva in the flooded zone just near the jump up would be faster... Thanks. It's not available to you, is that a regional thing? The eyepatch increases the damage that I deal and that I take. I grabbed the two granola bars at the start for heals so basically I can get hit no more than twice or the run's over!
@@HolyCodzta Thanks for the info and unfortunately the game isn't available on Playstation only Xbox and PC and the computer I do have is not good enough to run this
@@LittleGhost521 Ahhh gutted! Hope you get to play it one day. Actually, if your internet is good enough maybe you could use Xbox cloud gaming?
U have way better parry timings than me xd
Doubt it, I haven't even finished the game yet ;)
Is this a TAS? Or is he just goated?
🐐
Bro kills a black widow by the time I make a work bench that’s crazy
this guy tells his perents its time to go to bed
im still trying to kill my second widow after the broodmother and you did it in like 10 mins lmao
Haha gutted mate. You tried full life steal build with sleek ladybug armour? I've heard that's pretty good with sticky slop, meal and bandage
@@HolyCodzta Honestly nah im seeing this way after i killed it :p
I been so good at parrying, but I'm shitty when it comes to bees tho
Yeah the bees are weird, they're either super slow or super fast. Annoying to fight when they keep just out of range too
Do you just go into a single player world grab a pebble axe and just start learning to parry it’s crazy how good you are at it
Basically yeah!
@@HolyCodzta ha that’s awesome I gotta try that and see if I can learn how to do it too. Thanks for the advice, love your content, keep it up!
@@HolyCodzta the jump attack still one shot me with the level 9 sleek gas mask
Let’s go 1.0
You know it!
you should do a speed run of game on woah difficulty. fight all bosses as parry God
All bosses on whoa would be nails but very satisfying. But I think only when I've beaten them all at least once should I start thinking about that haha
GG 😳
Let's go another speedrun
Why does it stop attacking at the end? That is, was it bugged or is it its nature in the game? Perhaps in his cave, when she lowers a lot of life, tries to flee.
I'd like to think she was smart enough to get demoralised but I think it was just a bug unfortunately
@@HolyCodzta hahahahhaha
Eating a mushroom in her face is just disrespectful.
Deserved it.
WOOOOOW, UN SOLO BLOQUEO MAL Y SE TERMINA EL SPEEDRUN
¡Por eso los hice a todos perfectamente! ;)
What if people hired you to wear acorn armor and parry everything lol
Haha that'd be cool, tank for hire
Did you try getting coup on the way over to see if it speeds up the run?
Thanks though! Hahaha well to make climbing the first wall even faster you can jump straight from the last blade of grass to the top rock. I did the whole climb in one smooth, 3 second long motion yesterday and it looked sick but I wasn't recording :(
Sheeeeesh nice job no way in hell I could do this
I used to basically always die to wolf spiders so you never know!
Thanks for giving me a chalenge and good paries
Most welcome, and thanks
