    *Some information about strawberries in California that I know.
    California produces one billion pounds of strawberries each year, accounting for 90% of the country's strawberry production. Each acre of land in California that grows strawberries yields an average of 21 tons, and in California 23,000 acres of strawberries are grown each year.*

    Money doesn't grow on tree but grows in the farm. No matter where you live, you have to work to get money and food. Money isn't easy to earn and food isn't easy to get. Good luck to every hard work.

    • @tony98discovery
      @tony98discovery Год назад +1

      Strawberry farms here often use plastic to cover the beds before planting, so weeds cannot grow.

    • @Mattthefarmer1
      @Mattthefarmer1 Год назад +1

      4:55 and 6:50 the soil was fumigated prior to transplanting and this should take care of the weeds. Also, there are other cultural operations (bed shaping, bed mulching, the use of plastic, the use of drip irrigation) that will help maintain good weed control.

    • @user-jm4qu6ut3q
      @user-jm4qu6ut3q Год назад +1

      maybe it's a wonderful feature of a dry and hot climate that inhibits weeds .. I know that many farms use at least aryloxyphenoxy propionates and many others. in our farms, we do not use this to obtain bio, but we have many problems with weed herbs ...

      Agriculture in the US in general and California in particular never lacks modern equipment and tools. However, the process of harvesting strawberries and some other fruits here must be done by hand to ensure their quality.

      James Henderson You are correct in your comparison of the sweetness of some of the older strawberry Hybrids. The California Strawberry Hybrid was developed back in the late 1970s and it's main goal was to be able to grow a commercial strawberry that looked and tasted good . Just as important the Strawberry had to be able to ship by refrigerated truck all over the US and not Juice up and break down because of the bouncing of the truck as it rolled along. There process of automated planting and growing has allowed them to get their Berries to Grocery Stores by April. California dominates almost the whole Strawberry Market in the Western US and even more as far as I Know. Quite a testimony to the skills and efficiency and Automated farming production that is working food miracles in most of the developed world.
