  • What does your baby really need? There can often be a well-meaning focus for parents on their baby's physical needs - whether they have fed enough, slept enough, whether they are putting on weight and many more things. Yes, meeting these physical needs is very important indeed, but, the role that warm, responsive loving care has on babies' wellbeing and brain development is sometimes lesser known. In this video, Dr Angela McLaughlin, Director of the Butterfly baby clinic, gives a captivating insight into the incredible science behind every parent's love for their baby.
More on the presenter Dr Angela McLaughlin:
Angela is a Developmental Psychologist who set up The Butterfly Baby Clinic in 2014 which is based in Scotland but supports babies and their caregivers worldwide! Just as each baby’s name is carefully chosen and has a unique meaning, the Butterfly Baby Clinic was named after Angela's PhD in Clinical Psychology research which examined the ‘Butterfly Effect’ observed in the early brain development and attachment relationships of babies exposed to multiple adversities from conception to early infancy.
