    I’ve been using his products for almost 4 years now and I truly don’t have any negative reactions even with my sensitive skin. I use to have really deep lines on my forehead, smile lines and texture on my cheeks. It’s completely gone and at 37 my skin looks better than when I was 27! I guess it depends on your skin and how your skin reacts to different products. My skin although sensitive doesn’t react to the fragrance. With such deep wrinkles and texture all gone and no irritation I’ll keep them on deck.

    Phenoxyethanol is a very common preservative and is acceptable up to a 1% concentration. If you find that in the ingredients list, then anything below is less than 1% and can be in any order per labelling regulations. Artificial fragrance usually end up in that spot, but essential oils will be listed separately and are sometimes higher.

    And sadly you can’t count on brands at doctors offices either, I’ve seen horrific ingredients in some of those lines too. You really do have to pick specific products not brands. Many brands have both good and bad products.

    I work in skincare manufacturing and understand the concerns people have however, the reason most companies do not disclose the % is because consumers don't really understand what it means big picture wise, you will see an influx of brands hiding their % of actives as the years come. A lower percentage can actually be significantly better than a higher one depending on the delivery system used and other ingredients it is combined with and the source. There is just so much to learn. Dermatologists are stuck on percentages because they are doctors, they likes numbers, most of them know little to nothing about cosmetics though, hell so many recommend brands like cerave and cetaphil which are honestly crap ingredient wise.

    Fragrance is so blown out of proportion by other influencers and then it gets perpetuated. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, don’t use it. If you’re not sensitive then use it, it’s a great product. There are plenty of Dermatologist’s that use fragrance in their skincare. All the fear-mongering is silly 😂.. some brands like their skincare to be more of a sensory experience and others just want it to focus on the skincare. There’s a place for them both.

      Omg i just purchases this toner as i had 3 dark spots. Fragrence and perfume is two differnet things fragrance is the smell of something which i think should be noted on new generation products and akin care ingrediants im assuming CT did same its not perfume its fragrence of the other chemicals that has gone into the product. Now i have tried it today for the 1st time and it does claim for the first part it gives of a glow and it does, the second thing i noticed it tingles but doesn't burn but the tingles carried on were is my ordinary gycolic acid tingles too but not for long it disappears straightaway. If this products messes my skin and recently I got to look really good, if i break out il be taking this stuff back to get my money back because it was expensive for a toner to break me out, cant be having that. So i will use on alternate days till it stops tingling. Can you please tell me did you feel any tingling please? It does say it contains Alpha hydroxy Acid and gycoloc Acid which is more percentage oit of the two. As I am writing observing the product im noticing the tingling is slow shopping but can still feel it. Now i will mositurize my skin. So wish me luck. Im really scared when i try new products nowa days as yiu never know what crap they put into it nothing is natural anymore after this product im done using anything on my skin as my savere acne scars and textue started to look good than it's ever been. And i thought id get rid of now the dark spots that keep appearing on my skin dont know why i get these. Its started recently. It feels lioe ita going away the tingles but they still there of you know what i mean is this normal for this to happen. I think if you have acne spots raised you shouldn't apply this on the skin its very harsh chemical and will burn the skin because of the heat underneath the pimples bacteria that causes acne. It claimed it gets rid of scaring amd dark spots so i think if you have these then maybe someone who has this can show a true review as some products actualy make ur skin worse before it gets better so u have keep using it for at least 1 month. I only brought thia product as discovered one lady from vogue model used it and said it was great for dark spots but as she was applying she didnt say it tingles or i didnt hear her say it so i mau have to see that video again. Bit sje applied and started her makeup right after it wich i wouldnt do its a treatment and i wouldnt use it under makeup. I use toner to remove dirt grime give that glow and get rid of dark spots now that tingling has gone down alot. Tc thank you so much for the kind information and thank you for helping us oit nlknow more about the products bery helpful tc

    Just wanted to say that the place where the ingredient falls on the list doesn't necessary tell that much. They need to be listed in order at first but after the concentration is less than 1%, they can be in whatever order. Sometime it's hard to tell where the 1% mark is. So not only the amount of the ingredient, but also the amount of the other ingredients and their concentration affects as well. that being said, no skincare should have fragrance. i have eczema prone, dry and sensitive skin and it annoys me. Just found this video. I bought an Olehenriksen pack consisting on the mini eye cream and the mini vitamin C face gel. I was so looking forward to trying this out, according to the Amazing reviews. The first 3 days I was absolutely in love with the products. The texture of my skin, the dewness, etc... I have to stop it now. My skin is ok, but my eyes are swallen and red. I tried quitting the eye cream but I realised that actually the FACE gel also was causing me bad reaction to my eyes. Of course I don't apply it near my eyes but I feel is so sensitising, it's affecting my eyes, which are super sensitive.
    THANK you for this info. Totally makes sense to me. I feel upset, cause the smell , the texture, the dewness is amazing.

    I am 50 years old… have had acne since I was 11. I struggled with cystic acne for many years and have gone to multiple dermatologists. This is the only skin care line I can use for anti-aging that doesn’t make me breakout. In fact, it helps with my breakouts. The experience and outcome for me is going be much different than someone younger who doesn’t have acne. Everyone is different. Sometimes I think we’ve come to a point of being over-zealous about researching every little thing. Obviously, none of us want terrible, harmful ingredients or to use a line that is not environmentally friendly… but, that said… I think it comes down to trial/error and a bit of common sense. I love the line. If you’re someone struggling with aging, acne, oily skin, it’s worth a try.

    Totally agree with you about Fragrance and essential oil: citrus extract. Bad for sensitive skin and normal skin over time, not for me. LOL.
    I just wanted to point out that though the fragrance might be one of the top ten on the ingredient list that doesn’t mean the concentration is necessarily very high in the formulation. If it is listed after phenoxyethonal which is the preservative it can be the 1% indicator - meaning anything list below it is in a 1% or lower concentration. Regardless, fragrance is just not needed in skincare.
    Check out Kenna Whitnell’s channel. She’s taught me so much about ingredient lists! She’s the best!

    It's such a hyped up brand that i gave in and tried a few of their products . I have mature , normal to dry , sensitive skin . I opted for the banana bright eye cream which is ok ; on the other hand my skin has a love/hate relationship with the c-rush cream. One time out of three my skin reacts to it and turns bright red. I also picked up the Retin-alt cream and serum as a point perk and it was a disaster. The patch test went fine but i applied this at night and woke up to bright red, almost purplish painful cheeks which took a week to get back to normal. From now on, i'll stick to brands geared towards sensitive skin like Marcelle, First aid beauty and Aveeno

Its very similar to being a scam as it works right now for instant gratification but what will your skin be like in years to come ? It’s crazy too because so many influencers love these products and promote the hell out of them on Instagram and RUclips. I have heard to that too much vitamin C isn’t good for your skin. It really makes sense now why every time I use the products I get series of break outs that leads to another acne scars 🙄. I thought at first maybe it’s because my skin is getting use to the products , because everyone swears on it how good it is and how it made their skin acne free . However months of trying it my skin hasn’t looked bad in my life . I really regret it and wished I listened to my skin at first
    ,Lessons learned . Thanks for making this video xxx

    I like your approach to this review, but would be curious as to brands & products that don't have either essential oils/extracts or parfum. This line has been life-changing for me, minizing some hyperpigmentation from the sun and completely eradicating it in other areas - and it was BAD. I tried all the 'superheroes' for hyperpigmentation, and saw some results with a clinique product but two $110 bottles of the product and six months to get to that point. I did want to point out that Olehenriksen does have some Vitamin C products that list the amount of Vitamin C in it (Dewtopia for example). I do agree that companies should list the amount of actives in their products - as a general rule I don't like buying anything that doesn't list the percentage of their actives.

    Most of the "green beauty" at Sephora is not actually "green." They leave out some of the really bad chemicals, but most are still made of chemicals. Hence, I buy my green beauty either at Detox Market or through a business' website.

    Thanks for this video , I researched the banana eye cream as my eyes have been reacting over the past few months ( itchy , irritated and then puffy ) and now I’ve worked out why ! I ruled it out at first as it was fine for months and now a bad reaction , I hope haven’t done permanent damage . I have never reacted to products before , I have just turned 40. Definitely not Recommended for mature skin .
    And I will be more careful what I use on my skin , avoid citrus and fragrance! Thanks again x

    Does the citrus aspect apply to all Vitamin C products? I’m a huge fan of the Tatcha one, and would love a video explaining this!

    • @JenaFroese
      @JenaFroese  4 года назад +7

      It doesn’t! :) I can take a look into Tatcha’s line for a future video :) I just noticed with Olehenriksen unfortunately a lot of added fragrance, and citrus plant extracts that are really harmful over the long term! Citric acid for example, is a citrus based ingredient that is formulated as a really nice chemical exfoliant. So it all depends on how the ingredients are formulated :)

    • @foxymama2003
      @foxymama2003 4 года назад +1

      Jena Froese please deep dive the Tatcha vitamin C serum and mask. I am 55 and of course when I was 15, we baked in the sun with baby oil and iodine (yes, we were insane!!!! No one said “you’re gonna regret this, but boy I do!) I got lucky that I only have a few discolored spots, but I want to lighten them up without lasers etc. I use Tatacha’s cleansing oil, gentle rice polish, essence and dewy skin cream (my skin is dry) and it has made a huge difference for the better, but the vitamin C serum is really expensive and I want to make sure it is going to be effective before I spend the cash! I fell for the Ole Hendrickson line because of the price and smell (smells like oranges = good vitamin C right?) I used it for 3 months now and don’t really see a difference to my skin.

    My unpopular opinion-Quit putting so much stuff on thy face. Clean it. (Oil to break down makeup and gentle cleanser to remove it all) Moisturize it (May I suggest facial oil) Sunscreen it. For those with sensitive skin-the less you put on your face-the less likely you are to irritate your skin.
