I'm going to fold this model with paper that's grey on one side and white on the other. I want the grey side to be the body, and the white side to be the tusks. Which side should I have face up when I start?

I've tried this a couple of times but every time, by the time I get to the collapse the paper is just a mushy mess and tears....well, I say "tears" but it's more like it just falls apart *sigh* it's such a pain having to order decent paper from overseas cos it's expensive and takes forever, but I can't even get kami here.
Seth, you need to make sure you're giving enough time to allow us to see the folds and what it should look like. Too often your hand covers what you just did and you go on to the next step with no pause. Your angle is great just move your hands out of the way and let us see what you just did.

i have black and white color-side-up paper,which side should i start folding with to have a black body but white teeth elephent?
The paper I'm using has a a shiny side, and a matte side. The shiny side is on the outside and the tusks are the matte side.
