I love EJ He always gets this look in his eye when the applause breaks out, I'm not sure, but like "that wasn't the true art, I'm an imposter, that's just technical, why are you clapping". I'm not sure, what do you think? Modest as hell, sure, but...
I wish he would make an album with his covers of Jimi Hendrix. I know he does covers of this song, All Along the Watchtower, Are You Experienced, Castles Made of Sand, Angel, and Manic Depression. He should release an album, or record of those covers, either live versions or studio versions. I'm sure he knows many more Jimi songs as well. I would love to hear him do Eric Johnson style covers of Voodoo Child, May This Be Love, Hey Joe, and Little Wing...!
@guitarmanmark ; You can bet that with any great guitarist jealousy is sure to follow. This is no exception. It may require a modicom of logic and attention to look past a poor recording to see both a talented musician play yet another well executed performance.
I thought it was cool, he's Eric Johnson not Jimi Hendrix ,its obvious someone sat on the camera or something, turning it off? give me a brake dude its still cool.
The solo is not that good and I don't like this version at all, the sound on this recording isn't good but it sounds like the sound at the gig was not good either, his voice is not good and the mix is awful. I know he is a good guitar player but not here, he should stay away from Hendrix. I'm not a purist, I do this song and others in my acoustic set, I'll post them sometime, but this is just very average, sorry Eric
A guitar solo doesn't has to be flashy to be great. Simple notes, sweet emotion...
That solo is beautiful.
My favorite Jimi song. I named my car Mary.
good job!
I love EJ

There's nothing wrong with the solo, it sounds note for note to me.
@guitarmanmark I bet those purists would like YOU to "stay away from Hendrix" as well.. please...
