- Exploring An Old Abandoned Motel. Hope you enjoy this one. We were given permission to take pictures/video of this old place by the owner. Once full of visitors over the years especially during the summer months with the nearby lake and park, sadly this motel closed several years ago and fell into disrepair and will soon be demolished.

That was very kind of the owner to allow you to explore the place. I will admit it breaks my heart to see places that were once thriving to decay like that.
you could possibly ask the owner if you could help clear it out. Some owners will even let you take something if you ask and they won't need. but it is polite and customary to ask before you take photos, and visit and take anything from the property.
I love the new intro. That old motel is in such bad shape that it probably stinks of mold or other nasty stuff when it gets hot and humid or rains.
That is so cool that you got to video it before it is totally gone forever. Thanks for the tour. Hope you have some more adventures like this one in the future. All the best to you. Adventure on !

I remember this place and other places on that road from when I used to work summers at the Park. This was in 1976-78. I used to run a different ride each day to fill in for the regular operator. A lot of good memories there, hate to see that area in the shape it is now.

So sad to see. I grew up going to Conneaut Lake Park, and what has happened to it just sucks. I never stayed in that motel, as my family preferred the actual Hotel Conneaut, but I know where it is.
That motel was open the last time I was at the park, which was somewhere in the 2016-2018 time period. It’s a shame how much it’s gone downhill since then, although I guess it makes sense between the final closure of the park and the pandemic.
A friend's daughter owns a motel on rt30 thats left over from before the big interstate travel. She had a massive pool when she took ownership but due to insurance costs it was filled in. The giant picnic shelters are still out there though. She does decent business but she also has an hourly room rental available - if you know, you know. You gotta do what you can to stay in business these days.

Older FL, metro Orlando FL hotels, resorts have pools that are 6-8/9 feet deep. Due to lawsuits, code enforcement, drownings, post 2005 or so, pools are mandatory 5 ft only.
This looked like a real nice place before it fell apart great video as always I greatly enjoy all the respectful and chill top quality content great job Wallie

SUNSET VIEW MOTEL next to Conneaut Park we used to go to October Fest ever year up there in the 1990's
you could rent SUPER NINTENDO and SEGA GENESIS in the main office for like $2.50 per half hour

I'm originally from Edinboro so as soon as you said it was near an amusement park I knew exactly where you were. Very emblematic of the area unfortunately.

Interesting Channel Theme. The Old One Was Good Too.
So sad. Went every summer and stayed a week or two from 1985 to the early 2000's. Also did October fest. My kids, my siblings, nieces, nephews and my cousin and her children. It was a great place. Besides the motel there was 8 cottages and 6 one room cabins. Was always packed.
What I would do with money being no concern. Tear down rebuild it into a VA home, fully stock the pond, keep it stocked. Residents and visitors can fish without a license.

With no heat, and the cold, and water leaking right through, a bando house, or Motel, or a factory, just deteriorates very quickly, rather quickly!

I know where this is at... And if there is a couple bad winters with no proper maintenance... these buildings just fall apart. The area was really affected by CLP shutting down multiple times and the factories that left the area. Its sad cause my family still lives there and I'll be going up that way in a couple weeks.
New intro is so clever! Aww...I wonder if a basement run part of that motel cuz there's window wells along one side. We have that in our house. Cute place wish these motels could hang on. Like millionaires need to go around saving history!..If you ever get to the Gray Summit area in Mo..Diamond INN and restaurant is fun to visit.

I love the vented windows next to the pane windows.
They are called Jalousie windows, now pretty much obsolete, we have a hopper window in the 1st floor, just one window, jalousie windows leak cold and hot air like a sieve , my parents house had them in the back bedroom, we had them replaced, My Wife and I sold that house, and moved to a better area, this was in Philly, Pennsylvania.

You said they were scrapping it out. Maybe that's where a lot of the decay/damage came from. Both from them tearing out the scrap, and from that tearing out accelerating the natural decay. Shame. Looked like it was a cute little place, once upon a time. And, like you, I would've LOVED the pool, and that little pond!

I like your intro! It's probably been on there for a while but it's been a few weeks since I watched the video of yours. It's a shame to see any motel, store restaurant closed down. I live in Wapakoneta Ohio Just a few weeks ago a couple tornadoes went through here and it took out a hotel part of a TA truck stop, a campground a big $22.5 million dollar greenhouse, It took a old schoolhouse in the country about every 2 miles you see once in a while picked it up and just made a big pile of rubble. A few barns I picked the house up and carried it almost a quarter of a mile. Look it up there's a bunch of pictures on it. Sorry got a little side tracked😅 And what the weather don't destroy, vandals, thieves will come in just like that motel you just visited. Thank the difference between a hotel and a motel the hotel can't be more than 3 stories tall? Good content I've been following you guys for a few years now. reminds me of the old school "motor lodges" you'd see in postcards from vacation towns in the 1940s and 1950s. one story structures with parking right in front for your car, sort of like the motel in hitchcock's Psycho movie. neat video!

So sad!! All it really takes is a bad roof. Water starts getting in and if not taken care of quick it takes no time at all once it starts saturating the wood, insolation and drywall.
I like the new intro. The old one was nostalgic. If this motel gets torn down, It will probably be turned into something else.
I've noticed the same square holes in the roofs of the abandoned woodcliff condos. I also wondered how they got there and why they're on so many roofs

According to property records there's a private residence on the property. I'm guessing that it's the house located next to the former swimming pool which appears to be abandoned judging by the latest street view image.

There's a restaurant im Pennsylvania off of interstate 80 it was called moms kitchen that was abandoned for couple years
As old fashioned as CRT TVs are, they were built like tanks. That's why so many of them survived this place's decay.
There are some where I used to live.
Maybe poor maintenance led to it being so bad. Those tvs hanging on the wall, haven't that in a long while. Smell that mold. Definitely be respectful and glad you got permission. Thanks for the walk around brother. 👊👊👊
Did this place have a basement? It looked like it was on a slab, but the floors are caving in? I see the window wells along the foundation outside, but I wonder how much is under what we see on the surface.

the hotel caught on fire in 2015 and only had a few rooms available in 2016 when it closed thats why the roofs was cut
When they closed,they must have collected mattresses and threw it into the rooms. 😂😂😂
Those holes in the roof kind of look like skylight holes.

I mean, it's trashed not because of vandalism, but because they were stripping the pipes and scrapping metal etc, and once you tear it apart it decayes a lot quicker. Also, I want those blue curtains
