Happening Now: DeSantis holds Hurricane Milton press conference

- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is holding a conference Friday morning on the impacts and recovery efforts in the Sunshine State following devastation from Hurricane Milton.
His latest update comes just days after Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm, hitting Central Florida with deadly winds heavy rain and cutting off power for millions of residents. At least 10 people have been confirmed dead, according to authorities.
DeSantis and Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Deanne Criswell both suggested the damage could have been worse. The governor has been in touch with President Biden.
"The storm was significant, but thankfully, this was not the worst-case scenario," DeSantis said Thursday.
The news conference is expected to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.

DeSantis might not be a real inspiring speaker, but he does seem to be a good leader, one who can form a team and get things done. And he seems to have a good understanding of all this problem that he is facing. He would make a great President.

We have 5.000 square feet houses, we have horses… and lots of animals, but even so we are forgotten by the County on every hurricane. The County do not care for us for some reason. 😕
Please, do not understand me wrong, we love Gov. DeSantis he is the best we could have, but the County we have to admit :_ they forget the Double Bridges .

It used to take weeks to get power back on. Now it's usually back within a day. Hurricane preparedness has greatly improved under DeSantis.
