Had these back in 2006, so they are must cop for me. Even though the 2022 rendition isn't as nice as the OG pair... it's just the nostalgia for me, takes me back to those times when Jordan's were so much more fun to purchase. It was like an adventurous journey back then.

I had the Black/University Blue 5s. They came out in August 2006. Midsole crumbled. I hope JB releases them again because they were grossly underrated.
This release looks sooo different than the original 06’s way more shine and different grey I remember you couldn’t tell the 06’s were reflective until they hit that light just right . I think they used the company (3M) back then but recently moved to a different company that makes reflective material .
I have the original as well and did end up getting this release. Although that years 06/07 run had a lot of unreal colorways this was still one of my favorites.
These absolutely had apparel, because I had the shirt with them that said "Fresh out the box". Couldn't get the sneakers though, until about 2 years ago I picked up a gently used pair and restored them. Glad I did because these new ones ain't it compared to the OGs.

I still have my original pair of “green beans”…and they are DS..lol! I LOVED the burgundy..hell yes they need to bring those back!!! OH! Yes….the sneaker conversion to skate is real. I have a friend that is heavy onto skating and she made a pair of skates out of her AJ1s.

These were my first pair of Jordan’s. I rocked air forces kswiss vans and they were just shoes but when I got these Jordan’s it changed my sneaker game up. Now at my old age of 29 AJ1’s and Vans is my go to but I got these for the memories. Lol
Decent color way, but I wish they would’ve used leather on the upper instead of this 3M reflective material that creases horribly the very first time you were them. I also agree about the misshape of the tow box on the latest Jordan 5 releases. It sits way too high, looks too square from the side view and in general makes the sneaker look almost like a knock off imo. I didn’t buy the “Raging Bull 5s” precisely because of that. Jordan Brand needs to fix this asap. And tbh I’ve been noticing this problem more and more often on other Jordan silhouettes as well lately. And it honestly stops me from buying many sneakers that I would’ve coped otherwise.
Definitely the burgundy needs to come back. It’s a no for me on these green beans. But Jodi is definitely onto something with turning them into roller skates! That would look dope
I just forgot mines were sitting in the closet. I need to bring them out soon. I love these ‼️ one downside to being a sneakerhead is you only have one pair of feet it's easy to forget about certain color ways in the closet 😭

I’ve never been a fan of the Green Bean 5’s. Not a horrible shoe but I just never wanted them to add to the collection. They need to bring back Olive 5’s and Burgundy 5’s. Great review as always WearTesters!

I recently learnt that new shoe smell is glue after a few months. Reps smell awful because they've not had a chance to sit and have just come from the factory. They smell like new shoes after a few months if left unused (or so i'm told).
I knew I wasn't bugging about the toe on these before NW mentioned it himself, and yeah if they bring those Burgundy/Maroon V's back, thats gonna be one of those ones.
8:14 actually it's all suede. i have a pair that im going to midsole swap soon. my god the suede is immaculate. it's spoiled me so much that i just can't stand the quality jordan usually puts out nowadays. i hit it with a brush every once in a while and the movement is like butter. i almost don't want them brought back because i don't trust them to not screw them up

There was a wrong thumbnail used that Chris didn’t catch when reviewing the video, but we think you guys are smart enough to know which Fire Reds he was referring to. It’s one of those “you know what we mean” moments so it’s not really a big deal… since you clearly knew what he was saying.
